Row House Pulls Together to Raise Donations for Feeding America® COVID-19 Fund

National Boutique Rowing Brand Organizes Virtual Charity Rowing Session to Help Those Affected by Pandemic

April 30, 2020 // Franchising.com // IRVINE, Calif. - Row House, a rowing-based fitness concept offering low impact, full body cardio and strength workouts and part of the Xponential Fitness family of brands, announced today that it is supporting Feeding America to give back during these uncertain times. About one in seven people in America rely on food banks, and amid the COVID-19 pandemic that has many people “stockpiling”, food charities have faced challenges as the demand for food in the marketplace has increased exponentially. With this in mind, the nation’s leading boutique fitness rowing concept has found a way to help combat the challenges these food banks are facing.

On May 2 at 9 a.m. PST/12 p.m. EST, Row House fans across the nation can grab their rowers and join a virtual rowing session to help feed America. The 60-minute rowing workout is intended to raise donations for Feeding America, a charity aimed to feed the hungry through a nationwide network of member food banks, and engage the country in the fight to end hunger. Attendees can sign up here for Row House’s virtual 60-minute row to help feed America. Rowers can raise donations in few ways:

  • Pledge your donation of one penny for every meter rowed
  • Have someone sponsor you for every meter rowed
  • Share with your social following to raise awareness about Feeding America and how they can participate

During this time, Feeding America’s network of food banks have resorted to working more closely with manufactures and distributors to source food due to consumers stockpiling products and ultimately have seen a decrease in rescued food - what they typically rely on. This has resulted in a 22 percent increase in operating expenses, forcing food banks to dip into their reserve to purchase food to provide to those in need. Feeding America feeds about 40 million people at risk of hunger, including 12 million children and seven million seniors.

“With food banks under more pressure than ever, we at Row House are committed to helping raise donations for Feeding America’s fund to help families across the nation who are at risk of hunger,” said Ramon Castillon, President of Row House. “Our 60-minute virtual row is a great way to spread Feeding America’s charity initiative as well as getting our members involved to pull together and support communities.”

Row House has six class offerings - House, Body, Power, Restore, Full Row and Stroke - to accommodate all fitness levels. Utilizing 85 percent of the body’s muscles, rowing maximizes calorie burn, activates the core, strengthens and lengthens the body and ultimately improves posture.
