Budget Blinds Redefines its Business Model Because of the Coronavirus
Custom window covering leader officially reopens with both traditional in-home and virtual consultation options
June 12, 2020 // Franchising.com // IRVINE, Calif. - Budget Blinds has officially reopened for business to offer homeowners throughout North America multiple options for completing their window covering and other renovation projects while satisfying the latest COVID-19 guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and state and local health agencies.
Now, after implementing and finding success with virtual consultations to meet customer demand during the coronavirus, locally owned Budget Blinds franchises have added a best-in-class, web-based consultative service for homeowners wanting to complete the window covering design process 100% online. Returning customers can choose between traditional in-home and virtual consultations to complete their home renovations.
More than Budget Blinds franchises in the U.S., Canada and Mexico provide custom window coverings for residential and commercial customers through in-home and in-office consultations that allow franchise owners to serve their communities while adhering to social distancing and other virus-prevention practices.
Implemented in February after the CDC and local and state authorities mandated shelter-in-place orders, the Budget Blinds virtual consultations allow local designers to meet with homeowners, take measurements, present design options and provide finished blinds, shutters, shades, drapery and other customized solutions without actually visiting the customer’s home.
“Budget Blinds is officially reopening in the communities we call home to serve the customers that are also our neighbors,” said Doug Phillips, Budget Blinds president. “While we’ve been able to serve customers virtually the past few months, today’s reopening gives our franchise owners more options for transforming homes than ever before.”
“What I’m proudest about from a customer service standpoint is being able to take the popular Budget Blinds in-home consultation and convert it into a 100% virtual process without sacrificing our reputation for personalized service and results.”
