Two Historical Events Collide To Make Sanitation A Key Priority At The Polls

October 26, 2020 // Franchising.com // Jacksonville, Florida - Recently, a county in Indiana determined that the voting process and the polls absolutely needed one more element in this first in a lifetime election during a pandemic. World-class cleaning of the booths after each voter enters and leaves.

The county officials teamed up with Paul Davis Restoration to develop an excellent and efficient plan to provide the safest environment possible for voters and poll workers amid the Coronavirus pandemic. It was decided that onsite a team of certified technicians from Paul Davis would clean and apply EPA-approved disinfectants at the booths after each use, all while having in place the company’s TouchLess Service™ protocols.

“This is the first time in our history, probably in all of history, that the most important day, Election Day, and a major pandemic collide,” said Mike Hopkins Sr., Paul Davis’ Chief Operating Officer. “The County in Indiana made the right call. We have more than 250 independently owned offices all over the country and are more than pleased to be called on immediately to help develop a plan adapted to the needs of any polling location in the country.”

When creating a comprehensive plan during and post-election for polling sites, Paul Davis evaluates the need for physical barriers, such as plexiglass shields, when physical distance cannot be maintained, and assists with its procurement and installation. The company provides signage and floor decals to remind voters to maintain at least 6 feet away from other people. Post-election, Paul Davis teams can wipe all surfaces used by voters and workers and use ULV fogging or electrostatic spraying to provide coverage for walls, floors, and other horizontal surfaces.
