Swiney says, “I’m excited to bring a much-needed service to these communities. With health and wellness being at the forefront of Southern Californians’ everyday lifestyles, we want to ensure their fitness routines remain seamless and to provide exceptional service should equipment need repair.”

An Orange County native, Swiney holds a bachelor’s in communications from Cal Polytechnic University in Pomona and a law degree from Western New England College School of Law. Swiney spent her career operating her own consulting business, focused on project and operations management, as well as risk assessment and instructional design and training. In her shift to owning and operating Fitness Machine Technicians, she’s excited to put her entrepreneurial skills into practice again.

AJ Jackson of Santa Clarita will serve as lead technician and plans to train and hire technicians as their customer base increases. He has served as a locksmith for the Port of Los Angeles and has over 20 years of residential and commercial building and equipment repair experience. Jackson hopes to become a partner in the business as it grows. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, technicians take extra precautions by wearing face masks, shoe covers, gloves and using disinfectant wipes when servicing equipment.

Since its inception, Fitness Machine Technicians has been committed to delivering reliable service/repair and preventive maintenance services to customers across the nation. With more than 35 years’ experience in the fitness industry, Chief Executive and Founder Don Powers created a company that puts its customers first.

Powers notes, “I’m thrilled D’Shone is opening our first Los Angeles-area location. Her extensive background in operations and her entrepreneurial tendencies will play a significant role in her success with Fitness Machine Technicians.”

Swiney is an active member of her church community and regularly volunteers at local food pantries and organizations such as Crittenton Children’s Home.
