Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom Sponsors Colorado Rockies with ‘Steal a Base, Steal a Beer’ Promotion

For every base the Colorado Rockies steal during the regular season, OC Rewards members will receive a free 10-ounce beer the next day

April 06, 2021 // Franchising.com // DENVER - Old Chicago Pizza & Taproom is encouraging fellow Coloradoans to root, root, root for the home team - the Colorado Rockies - to keep stealing bases this season.

Why? Old Chicago wants its home team to win, of course! But, the award-winning pizza brand is also continuing its annual “Steal a Base, Steal a Beer” promotion. So, for every base the Colorado Rockies steal during the regular MLB season, OC Rewards members can “steal” a FREE 10-ounce draft beer from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m., the following day at any Old Chicago restaurant in Colorado.

“We’re excited to continue our annual sponsorship with the Colorado Rockies this year,” said Josh Kern, Chief Marketing Officer for SPB Hospitality. “Even with the modified 2020 season, fans loved celebrating all of the ‘steals’ with us at Old Chicago. Last year, the Rockies stole 42 bases, and we handed out 15,456 ‘stolen beers.’ Old Chicago is proud to partner with the home team again and excited that baseball is back so our fans can cheer on the Rockies, either at the game or in our restaurants, this season.”

“This unique partnership brings some fun, added energy to our games, so we’re thrilled to continue the ‘Steal a Base, Steal a Beer’ promotion this season,” said Walker Monfort, Vice President of Corporate Partnerships for the Rockies. “Rockies fans are headed back to Coors Field for the first time in 17 months. Things will still look a bit different this year, but we are looking forward to a successful season.”

Guests at Old Chicago can enjoy The Official Pizza of the Colorado Rockies made with scratch-made crust and freshly prepared ingredients honoring the influence of Italian tradition and American innovation. Old Chicago knows that pizza and beer are best friends, carrying more than 110 local and legendary craft beers from down the street and around the globe. A beer expert is always on staff to guide guests’ to discover their new favorite pint through the World Beer Tour where they can earn OC Bucks towards future food and beverage savings.
