High-End Women’s Consignment Boutique from Southern California to Open First Franchise and First East Coast Store

The Closest Trading Company Open House to benefit the Dan Marino Foundation; brings pre-loved contemporary designer fashions to South Florida

April 12, 2021 // Franchising.com // Santa Barbara, Calif. - The Closet Trading Company®, which operates four high-end women’s consignment boutiques in Southern California, today announced the grand opening of its first East Coast boutique will take place on April 22, 2021 in Plantation, Florida. The company began franchising in 2019, and the new South Florida store will be the company’s first franchise location to open.

The Closet Trading Company sells pre-loved contemporary designer clothing, shoes, and accessories for women, and specializes in current, on-trend styles from designer and premium labels. The company’s existing locations include Santa Monica, Agoura Hills, Santa Barbara, and Woodland Hills, California.

New owner Gabriela Hernandez will operate the first franchise location at 10097 Cleary Blvd., Plantation, Florida 33324. She plans to celebrate the shop’s Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony at noon on April 22, 2021 - deliberately scheduled for Earth Day to highlight the environmental benefits of shopping for and consigning pre-loved clothing. Representatives from the Greater Plantation Chamber of Commerce and Dan Marino Foundation are expected to be in attendance.

“I’m thrilled to be launching this new business that combines my love of fashion with my drive to contribute positively to the environment, by giving pre-loved, high-end garments a new life. I’m looking forward to bringing my passion to the South Florida community and welcoming shoppers to my boutique for an exciting and potentially habit-forming shopping experience,” said Hernandez.

To welcome new customers, the boutique will also host an Open House on Friday, April 23, 2021 from 5-7 p.m. The event will feature light refreshments and a drawing for a giveaway. In honor of Autism Awareness Month, Hernandez will donate a portion of the proceeds from the day to the Dan Marino Foundation, which provides pathways to independence for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.

“My oldest son is on the autism spectrum, and I’m so grateful for the amazing and important work the Dan Marino Foundation is doing,” Hernandez explained. “I’m looking forward to shaping my business as a strong partner of the foundation as well as an integral member of the local community.”

“We are thrilled to be a part of The Closet Trading Co’s expansion in South Florida,” said Mary Partin, CEO of the Dan Marino Foundation. “It is so important to us to be a part of the community and involved with small businesses that align with our mission. We appreciate the funds coming back to the Foundation which will certainly help support our unique programs and initiatives.”

In the South Florida boutique, shoppers will find mainstream brands like Lululemon, Free People, and Rag & Bone, as well as an extensive selection of luxury pieces from Chanel, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, and more. Items can be purchased for about 70% off retail prices. Regular store hours will be Monday through Saturday 10 a.m.–6 p.m. and Sunday 11 a.m.–5 p.m.
