Fresh Coat Expands Commercial Painting Division, Bolsters Recession-Resistant Business Model

Nationally Recognized Painting and Home Services Company Creates Dedicated Team and Training Program

May 13, 2021 // Franchising.com // CINCINNATI, Ohio - Fresh Coat reveals the successful expansion of its commercial painting division with the addition of a dedicated support team to drive sales and provide critical training to franchise owners.

Fresh Coat’s commercial painting division provides a significant and stable recession-resistant revenue stream for Fresh Coat franchisees who also offer in-demand residential painting services, pressure washing, wallpaper removal, drywall repair and other business and homecare essentials.

To support existing and future franchisees, Fresh Coat established a comprehensive commercial training program that provides owners with the tools to be successful in the robust commercial painting market.

“Historically,  commercial painting projects are much harder to find and secure,” said Greg Platz, Vice President of National Accounts, Commercial Division. “Fresh Coat added resources to the home office team to help facilitate the growth and development of this line of business and make it easier for our franchisees to see success in this space.”

Once Fresh Coat franchise owners complete the training program, they are given added support, oversight, and an operations system that maximizes revenue at no additional cost. This includes:

  • Commercial lead generation and quoting support provided by the home office team
  • Assistance with vetting contractors
  • Project management support

“We also pre-negotiated rates with facility management companies in the markets we serve, taking the bidding process out of it, which provides the franchisees with profitable work,” adds Platz. “This is the kind of support you would never get if you were a small independent painting company.”

With only a few short months into the strategic expansion of its commercial painting division, Fresh Coat is already experiencing proof of concept. In the first quarter of 2021, about 25 percent of the brand’s painting projects shifted to commercial work. In the same time period, Fresh Coat received more than $10 million in commercial leads.

“There are so many opportunities for commercial painting projects. But not all of them will be profitable if you don’t have the experience,” says Platz. “Thanks to this dedicated team, we give Fresh Coat franchise owners an advantage and a path to scale their businesses the right way, with the right tools and the right training.”
