New TV Series Boosts Jellystone Park Visibility

August 09, 2021 // Franchising.com // CINCINNATI - Leisure Systems, Inc. (LSI), franchisor of Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resorts, is stocking up on Yogi Bear, Boo Boo Bear and Cindy Bear merchandise as the new HBO Max TV series, Jellystone!, takes to screens across the country. The show, which premiered July 29, features the beloved bears, as well as other memorable Hanna-Barbara Characters.

“We couldn’t be more excited to see our number one ambassador and his friends back in prime time,” said Jim Westover, Leisure Systems vice president of Sales and Product Development. “Next to Mickey and Minnie Mouse, it would be hard to find characters that are more recognizable and appealing to kids and adults.” Yogi Bear characters are the biggest sellers in Jellystone Park camp stores, and LSI expects there be to a run on them.

Jellystone Park locations feature interactions with all three characters. “While most parents know Yogi, Boo Boo and Cindy, their kids may not,” Westover said. “The new show will introduce the bears to a new generation of fans.” He added that the Yogi Bear movie released in 2010 generated tremendous interest in Jellystone Park among families, as well as new franchisees. “We expect Jellystone! will do the same.”

Warner Bros. Animation reimagined the characters, modernizing them for today’s family audience. The bears now live in the town of Jellystone, but they still turn everyday activities into hilarious pandemonium. Westover said that the updates to the series mirror how Jellystone Park campgrounds have evolved over the years. The first locations had rustic cabins, motel-style pools and just a few activities. Today, the typical Jellystone Park features glamping cabins, water slides and splash grounds, and enough activities to keep kids entertained from morning flap jacks until evening s’mores.
