Chip’n Like a Champ: Wing It On! Partners with The Susie Foundation for Annual Golf Outing

Chicken Like a Champ Wing Franchise Sponsors Golf Tournament to Support New Englanders with ALS

August 27, 2021 // Franchising.com // RALEIGH, N.C. - Wing It On! announced today that it is the presenting sponsor of The Susie Open, a golf outing hosted by The Susie Foundation. The outing will raise funds to aid in the organization’s mission to provide support to patients, families and caregivers of those living with ALS across New England.

The Susie Open will take place on Friday, August 27 at Tunxis Country Club in Farmington, Connecticut starting at 1:00 p.m., just minutes away from the brand’s original location in Waterbury, Connecticut. Several members from the Wing It On! team, including co-founder and CEO Matt Ensero, will compete in the tournament’s traditional 18-hole course to raise money for ALS programs.

The New Britain, Connecticut Wing It On Wheelsd! food truck will also be on site handing out chicken tenders with three of the brand’s signature sauces to the participants.

“Giving back to the local communities, families and individuals our restaurants serve is a key component of the Wing It On! brand and our values,” said Ensero. “We’re always looking for ways to support those in need and when we heard about the life-changing services that The Susie Foundation offers, we knew we wanted to get involved in a big way.”

The Susie Foundation is a non-profit organization focused on improving the lives of young caregivers and families living alongside those suffering from ALS. The organization’s namesake, Susan Ready Matthews, passed away in 2011. Ever since, the foundation has worked to bring life-changing support services to those caring for others with the disease. This year represents the foundation’s fourth tournament event and the first time Wing It On! will be the presenting sponsor.

“It’s so inspiring to see the passion behind an organization like The Susie Foundation,” continued Ensero. “I can’t speak for our skills on the course, but I know the team is really pumped to be a part of this incredible fundraiser.”
