Fleet Feet Grows Footprint  in Greater Austin

New franchise location coming to Georgetown; grand opening in March

February 07, 2022 // Franchising.com // CARRBORO, N.C. - Fleet Feet continues to double down on its expansion in the greater Austin market today with the opening of its newest franchise in Georgetown, Texas. Mark King, who also owns the Round Rock store, will open his new location at 4500 Williams Drive. A soft opening is planned this month with a grand opening planned for March.

“Mark has done an incredible job serving the Round Rock running community for nearly a decade,” said John Moloznik, vice president of development for Fleet Feet. “Georgetown, like most of Central Texas, is experiencing population growth, and we are thrilled to be expanding the Fleet Feet footprint with a franchise owner and community leader like Mark, who is passionate about helping others live a more active lifestyle.”

King became a Fleet Feet franchise owner in 2013, when he opened the Round Rock store. Under King’s leadership, the Round Rock store quickly embedded itself into the local running community through fun runs and training programs.

“We have an amazing and loyal community in Round Rock and the surrounding area that continued to support our business throughout the pandemic,” said King. “There’s been an opportunity to better support and serve runners and walkers in Georgetown, and I am so excited to finally open this new store to offer more customers the expertise and support they need to build and maintain healthy running and walking habits.”

Fleet Feet Georgetown will operate with the brand’s exclusive personalized outfitting experience, fit id®, which includes 3D foot scanning and dynamic pressure mapping. The pressure mapping software launched in November 2020 and allows outfitters to measure the unique foot path and weight distribution of each foot as an individual walks across a three-and-a-half-foot long force plate. These measurements give Fleet Feet the ability to offer individualized footwear solutions through Superfeet’s ME3D line of personalized insoles.

Fleet Feet first opened its doors in Sacramento, Calif., in 1976. What began as a running store quickly transformed into a hub for the running community. Today, Fleet Feet’s network of community-based retail stores across the country are a place of inspiration, showing people how Running Changes Everything®. Fleet Feet’s continued growth is fueled by the brand’s constant innovation, including its exclusive, proprietary outfitting experience, fit id®, which allows Fleet Feet to offer personalized footwear solutions for every runner, walker and fitness enthusiast of all abilities.
