The 4th Annual Kolache Factory Challenge 5K/10k/Kids Dash, sponsored by the Katy-based franchise Kolache Factory, returns to Houston’s Energy Corridor District on Saturday, April 2nd after a two-year COVID hiatus, and runners/walkers are coming out in droves. The race is on pace to set a new “PR” (personal record) of one thousand runners/walkers!
“We are so happy to finally get back on track with the tastiest road race in town!” said Dawn Nielsen, Chief Operating Officer at Kolache Factory, and title sponsor of the event. “It’s been a long two-year break, and it’s obvious everyone is ready for a little fresh air, fun, and free kolaches. We’ve earned it!”
Free kolaches from the Kolache Factory await all at the finish line, as well as a celebratory Saint Arnold Beer for participants 21 and older!
Or you can take “The Kolache Challenge” - For the gastro gladiators, they run/walk the first lap, eat THREE sausage and cheese kolaches at the 3.1-mile marker, then finish the race!
The race puts Texas’ defining pastry - the kolache - to the test with its claim to being the perfect “on-the-run” snack.
The Race Details:
- Kolache Challenge 10K - Eat three (3) kolaches at the 3.1-mile mark and head to the finish line!
- Casual 5K/10K - Run/walk your race first and eat kolaches at the finish line.
