After 20 Years Of Friendship Beatrice And Purity Have Opened Their New Care Business

October 03, 2022 // Franchising.com // UNITED KINGDOM - The friends are proud to be bringing their new Good Oaks Home Care business to the Edgware and Finchley area. The care company provides bespoke live-in and visiting care to people in their own homes. Services include helping clients to start their day, personal care, washing, cleaning, cooking as well as taking clients out shopping, to appointments or to see friends. Good Oaks Home Care also provides respite care and support for people who are returning home after a stay in hospital. They pay industry-leading rates of pay and provide clear career progression for the caring people who work with them.

Friends Beatrice and Purity are celebrating after they recently received their accreditation from the independent regulator for health and social care in the UK - The Care Quality Commission (CQC.)

The company is currently helping clients across the Edgware and Finchley area, including Barnet and Harrow. Friends for more than 20 years, Co-Directors Beatrice Kinyua and Purity Mwangi, first met when they worked in Kenya, and later reconnected when they were both working in London. Having cared for family members themselves, they both saw how crucial good care support was for helping their loved ones remain living comfortably in their own home. This led them both to change careers to work in care, they now have more than 15 years’ experience between them.

Beatrice, who has a background in finance, economics and auditing, said it was a hugely satisfying career and one she was proud to say helped the community. She said that those who were thinking of becoming carers should ‘go with their hearts,’ adding: “With care, it really does come from the heart. It is more than a job; it is very satisfying knowing you have helped someone. Personally, I feel very good when I get home at the end of the day and know that I was able to make people happy and make a difference to their day.”

Purity was a PA in a London-based investment firm for nearly two decades, before starting in the care sector part time. She said: “Throughout my career, I really enjoyed meeting people with varying needs and different backgrounds. I like meeting people and hearing their stories, and I like being about to support people through the care role. It is very rewarding.”
