School Of Rock The Heights Is Ready To Rock N’ Roll

The Heights grand opening to include live performances, tours, a raffle and more

November 30, 2022 // Franchising.com // HOUSTON - School of Rock announces the grand opening of a new school in Houston. The event will take place at 742 E. 20th St, Houston, TX 77008 from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. CT, on Saturday, Dec. 3. Along with a ceremonial guitar smashing (School of Rock’s version of a ribbon-cutting), the event will offer a live performance by the West University house band, a special appearance by local artist Shelbi Nicole, a raffle, t-shirt sale, face painting, trial lessons, tours of the school, introductions to the music teachers, food, and more.

The Heights school is led by owners Vivian and Hugh Scott and General Manager Adrian Ramirez. The Heights location is the Scott family's second school, the first being West University Place in Houston. Vivian and Hugh were drawn to School of Rock by the idea that anyone, at any age, can pick up and learn an instrument, make friends, and perform for their community. Most importantly, they wanted to provide a safe environment for students to develop their confidence and self-esteem. School of Rock created the perfect opportunity for them to be able to build a business while creating unique experiences for students of all ages.

“We are really excited to be able to bring School of Rock to this part of Houston. The Heights is a one-of-a-kind neighborhood with a rich history that retains an air of individuality that attracts foodies, creatives, and professionals,” said Vivian. “School of Rock makes learning music fun with our performance-based curriculum and unique, patented teaching methodology. We want the student to build a lifelong passion for music and be a part of a great community at the same time. It's a place anyone can belong.”

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons, and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz, and Led Zeppelin. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.

"Vivian and Hugh are passionate about music and inspiring the next generation of young artists,” said Rob Price, CEO of School of Rock. “We are delighted to celebrate their second school and to see them positively impact the lives of their students and the people in their community.”
