Waters Edge Winery LB Now Open In The Historic East Village Arts District, Downtown Long Beach

December 28, 2022 // Franchising.com // LONG BEACH, Calif. - Waters Edge Wineries® today announced the reopening of its Long Beach location, which has relocated from Pine Avenue to the first floor of the historic Broadlind building in Downtown Long Beach. One Hat Enterprises, the owner of Waters Edge Winery LB, has spent the last few months creating a new vision for its micro-winery and will bring Long Beach residents and visitors the opportunity to engage intimately with the world of wine in a fresh new way.

“As we open the doors to our new location, we look forward to welcoming our guests to a new neighborhood and winery space that we are so excited,” said Collin Mitzenmacher, Cellar Master of Waters Edge Winery LB. “In a state known for its vineyards and fine wines, we found a way to bring the winemaking and tasting experience to our neighbors right here in Long Beach.”

Waters Edge Winery LB is located at the first floor of the Broadlind building on the corner of East Broadway and Linden. The location offers nearly 30 different wines, including classic selections such as Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon and Pinot Noir, as well as lesser-known grape varietals grown locally in California and further-reaching wine regions of Italy, France, New Zealand, Chile and Australia. A beverage list includes sparkling wines, sangrias and dessert wines, as well as several beers on draft. Wine will be produced across the street at the Layfette Building. In its new location, the revamped winery is a venue featuring a walk-up bar, with both table and booth seating throughout the tasting room. A outdoor patio will offer an unobstructed ocean breeze and a casual, relaxing tasting experience.

To complement its selection of beverages, Waters Edge Winery LB will feature a menu of food items crafted by Head Chef Leo Favella, with options ranging from pasta and seafood to pizzettas and burgers. A selection of “shareables” or appetizers is available, as well as a “sweet tooth corner” with dessert options ranging from goat cheese donuts to espresso tiramisu. Waters Edge Winery LB will be working with local chocolatier, Romeo Chocolates, to offer guests a chocolate and port wine paring.

For guests interested in hosting private events, the winery offers custom labeling and wine bottling parties for groups to enjoy. As an added perk for hosting events of 6 to 8 attendees, hosts will enjoy 30 percent off the batch of time. Further adding to the experience, three exclusive wine clubs are available, allowing wine enthusiasts and novices alike to further expand their expertise – and their wine collections.

Collin Mitzenmacher joined the Waters Edge Winery team in 2012 and has been on the Long Beach project for 5 years now when he and his father opened Waters Edge Winery of Long Beach. Prior to joining the Waters Edge Winery Long Beach team, Collin accumulated more than 10 years of experience in the wine industry working at wineries in Arizona, California and Oregon working harvests and learning the craft of winemaking. Today, Collin serves as the Cellar Master of Waters Edge Winery LB.

“I was originally attracted to Waters Edge Wineries as our method of wine production is unique and allows for the creation of wines without the need for an on-site vineyard,” Collin Mitzenmacher explained. “My passion for winemaking has grown further than I could have imagined over the past few years. Seeing our guests’ reactions after tasting our wines, I’m thrilled to be a part of this exciting franchise concept and look forward to continuing to offer the Long Beach community a one-of-a-kind experience.”
