Salata Salad Kitchen Expands Georgia Footprint with Three Units Planned

Multi-Brand Operator Signs Agreement to Bring Leading Built-to-Order Salad Brand To Hapeville

June 27, 2023 // Franchising.com // HAPEVILLE, GA. - Salata, the built-to-order salad kitchen that allows guests to customize and create meals that fit their lifestyle, is closing in on 100 open locations with a recent signed agreement in Georgia. The three-unit agreement welcomes Phillip Jones, an experienced multi-brand franchisee and longtime resident in the area, to the brand. His first location is set to open this year in Hapeville.

“I’ve been a huge fan of Salata for some time now and knew the Hapeville community would benefit from the brand’s healthier food options,” said Jones, who also owns multiple Smoothie King and Marcos Pizza locations. “Salata not only presents an opportunity to further diversify my portfolio, but also enhance the dining options in Hapeville. When looking for my next business venture, Salata was an easy choice given the brand’s recent growth and the commitment it places on franchisee satisfaction and innovation. Not to mention, the support provided by the entire Home Office team has been top notch. I’m eager to open my first location this year.”

Houston-based Salata offers built-to-order salads and wraps alongside soups, teas, and lemonades, empowering guests to customize their ideal meal in an accessible way. With more than 50 fresh toppings available on the menu, including fruits, vegetables and proteins prepared in-house daily and house-made salad dressings, Salata has established a loyal following by providing customizable and healthy options for any lifestyle.

Salata has been growing rapidly across the nation on its road to 100 locations, with a special focus on the southern states. The brand is quickly establishing a presence in Georgia, with ten locations already open. With this expansion into Hapeville, Salata is eyeing additional growth throughout the Peach State.

“It's always exciting to see esteemed multi-brand operators like Phillip show interest in our growing concept,” said Michelle Maerz, President of Salata. “Phillip’s ties to the community and his proven track record as a business owner make him the perfect candidate to be a Salata franchisee. We are excited to see Phillip lead the charge for our additional growth in Georgia.”

Salata has maintained its place at the leading edge of the fast casual restaurant category with tech-enabled advancements. Continually looking to evolve and find fresh, innovative ways to meet the needs of its guests and franchisees while staying true to its brand, Salata recently launched a systemwide restaurant “Refresh” program. Officially launching in 2022, the program guides existing franchisees in updating the brand’s legacy restaurants with a completely new look and feel, which offers the clean and fresh ambiance guests have come to associate with the salad kitchen’s menu and ingredients. The new, crisp design is as appealing to operators as it is to guests with a separate online order station, offering a quick and easy pickup option and increased operational efficiencies for franchisees and their teams.
