Woofie's® Premium Pet Care Services for Dogs, Cats, Other Animals, Now Serving East Bay San Francisco Area Communities

Grand opening celebration for Woofie’s, serving Pleasanton, Central Oakland, Walnut Creek, and surrounding areas, planned for Kiwanis - Danville 4th of July Parade

June 30, 2023 // Franchising.com // San Francisco Bay Area – Woofie’s of Walnut Creek is now open to the public. Services include pet sitting, dog walking, luxury mobile grooming, pet taxi, and other personalized services for area pet owners who need an extra helping hand, are planning travel, or just want to pamper their pets. This is the first Woofie’s franchise  to open in the state of California.

Woofie’s of Walnut Creek is celebrating its opening at the Kiwanis - Danville 4th of July Parade (July 4 from 9 a.m.-noon), one of Danville’s biggest events. Woofie’s will be driving its luxury mobile pet spa down Hartz Avenue during festivities, handing out free gifts, and later doing complimentary pet nail cuts, and brush outs, as well as hosting raffles for prizes, a balloon artist and character drawings at a nearby restaurant after the parade.

Woofie’s of Walnut Creek serves dogs, cats, birds, guinea pigs, reptiles and other pets in Pleasanton, South Oakland, and Walnut Creek. Staff are CPR trained. Services include:

  • Mobile pet spa
  • Dog walking
  • Transport in Woofie’s luxury pet taxi
  • Bed & Biscuit pet sitting

The franchise is owned and operated by Danville, East Bay Area resident Kavita Sohal, an entrepreneur who is passionate about animals, her family and community, and always dreamed of starting a family-oriented business. When she became aware of Woofie's, “It just felt right,” according to Sohal. Woofie’s fits in with her love of pets and the fact that the franchise is a business that serves her local community is a welcomed benefit. Together with her husband Roman, who is a CCO in the Fintech industry, and their two kids, Ram 9, the family athlete, and Jaya 7, who aspires to be a dog walker and groomer when she grows up, the family is excited to work together to grow the new venture.

“Pets bring something happy and healthy to a community – there is nothing better than having a pet. Despite any differences we may have, we all can understand the love of a pet. And because Woofie’s is a mobile business, it enables us to serve more people and their fur babies in the East Bay area with a variety of premium services,” says Sohal.

Though Woofie’s of Walnut Creek will officially celebrate its grand opening on July 4, Sohal opted to open even sooner, on June 13, to give local pet owners access to services to address one of the biggest pet safety weekends of the year.

“Statistics show, with fireworks and pet owners traveling, more pets go missing around the Fourth of July than any other time of the year,” she says. “We wanted to give local pet owners access to mobile pet sitting and other resources to keep area pets safe.”

Sohal and her family also include King Louie who is 10, an Airedale Terrier, and they just welcomed a brother and sister duo of Yorkshire terrier puppies Sir Thor & Lady Bella. King Louie’s picture is placed prominently on the Walnut Creek Woofie’s mobile pet spa, which ensures a luxurious experience for pets and their people.
