The Greene Turtle Opens First-Ever Location Featuring In-Restaurant Sports Betting

Maryland-based sports restaurant and bar chain to celebrate new Canton restaurant and sportsbook

September 06, 2023 // Franchising.com // BALTIMORE, MD - It’s a good bet The Greene Turtle’s newest Baltimore location is going to be a destination for local sports fans.

The Maryland institution is raising the stakes to a whole new level with the landmark debut of its first all-in-one restaurant and sportsbook concept in Baltimore’s Canton neighborhood. Just in time for football season, fans will not only be treated to the great food and atmosphere they’ve come to love at The Greene Turtle, they can also place wagers in a state-of-the-art sports entertainment restaurant.

The Canton restaurant is now open at 3803 Boston St. in the Shops at Canton Crossing.

“Our Canton location is the first restaurant in our partnership with Finest Flag Gaming and betPARX. It takes our guest experience to the next level,” said Geo Concepcion, CEO of The Greene Turtle. “This location has been a long time coming but was definitely worth the wait. We had the time to refine all the things we’ve learned in our newest locations and have taken it to another level. We have a duty to give Maryland, our loyal supporters for nearly five decades, something special and that’s what we’ve delivered. The Greene Turtle is back in a big way!”

On February 15, Finest Flag Gaming was awarded two licenses by the Maryland Sports Wagering Application Review Commission to operate sportsbooks in The Greene Turtle's Canton and Towson restaurants. The operation will be supported by betPARX.

Both locations showcase a modern, innovative design which delivers an experience for watching and wagering on sports. The Canton location features cutting-edge audio and visual technology, including tickers to keep bettors informed of multiple events simultaneously and a video wall that can show up to 20 games at a time so guests will never miss the action.

Regular operating hours for The Greene Turtle in Canton are 11 a.m. to 12 midnight Monday-Sunday. On Saturdays and Sundays, the restaurant will open at 10 a.m. for early betting, with food and alcoholic service beginning at 11 a.m.

Following the soft launch of its new Canton location, The Greene Turtle will hold grand opening festivities on Sunday, Oct. 1, filled with fun giveaways, prizes and a special appearance from Lucky the Turtle. The Towson location is set to open in the coming weeks as well.

In addition, beginning Thursday, Sept. 7, at select locations, fans can come into their favorite local community hangout for the $25 Turtle Touchdowndeal during all pro football games – featuring unlimited 5-cent draft beers and a shareable of choice all game long. Each guest can choose from Bavarian Pretzel Sticks, Buffalo Chicken Dip, Chicken Quesadilla or Seven-Piece Boneless Wings. On tap, The Greene Turtle will offer Bud Light, Coors Light, Miller Lite, Yuengling and Greene Turtle’s house beer – Rinders Keeper.
