Leading Luxury Spa Welcomes Lisa and John Paulson as They Take on Ownership in Olathe, Kansas

Lisa, a former elementary teacher and academic coach, made the tough decision to leave behind the profession she dedicated herself to for more than 24 years. Lisa is a proud University of Kansas Alumni, earning her master’s degree in School Leadership and Policy Studies in 2010. Over the past year, as John and Lisa explored business ownership as the next phase in Lisa’s career journey, franchising stood out to them as a viable option and pursuit. As she and John moved around the U.S. for various professional opportunities over the years, they most recently found themselves in Washington state. It was here in 2021 that Lisa decided to revisit massage therapy to aid with her arthritis, leading her to discover Hand & Stone. Upon her first visit, she was immediately hooked. She left the spa that day with her very own new membership.

Through in-depth research and several immersive meetings with other Hand & Stone owners, as well as their own quest of prioritizing self-care, it became clear to the Paulsons that this was the business they wanted to invest in.
