Metal Supermarkets Launches International Metal My Way Competition

9th Annual Photo and Video Submission Contest to Empower Talented Welders, Fabricators, Metalworkers and Artists

September 20, 2023 // Franchising.com // Toronto, ON - Metal Supermarkets is accepting submissions for its annual Metal My Way competition, calling metalworking enthusiasts across the globe to show off their pride and joy metallic masterpieces.

Metal My Way is an international photo and video submission contest open to both professional and amateur metalworkers alike, whether it’s a welding apprentice with an artistic flair or a seasoned fabrication veteran. Metal My Way is their chance to showcase their passion and compete to win awesome prizes.

Now in its ninth year, Metal My Way has received countless impressive creations that have taken home the crown, such as a larger-than-life Game of Thrones inspired Dragon, and even a rocket-powered supercar.

Contestants can submit photos, videos and details of their metal project by completing a submission form on website between September 1 and September 30, 2023. Metal Supermarkets is the primary sponsor of Metal My Way, along with Cosen Saws, Haco Atlantic Inc., Ferric Machinery, Airgas Inc. and Space Aid Manufacturing as additional sponsors.

The contest features one grand prize awarded to the best overall project, along with secondary prizes awarded to each winner of the following categories:

Vehicle Projects: Includes, but is not limited to, car restorations/modifications, engine work, trailer and camper builds, planes builds or restorations, boat builds or restorations, motorized scooter, bike and buggy builds, etc
Artistic and Design Projects: Includes, but not limited to, jewelry, statues, sculptures, and will also encompass other projects that have aesthetic designs that do not fall into the other categories such as musical instruments, cases. This category is intended to include projects that do not fit into any of the other four categories.
Furniture & Home Projects: Includes but is not limited to, outdoor/indoor furniture. Industrial or Shop Projects: Includes, but is not limited to, shop equipment and tool builds, larger scale construction projects or specific aspects of those projects, equipment and tool repair or modification.
Knives Projects: Includes but not limited to knives, swords, blades and similar items.

Grand Prize: Milwaukee Tool 13 Amp 1-5/8 -inch Electromagnetic Drill Kit

Secondary Prizes: Husky Standard-Duty 26 inch W 6-Drawer Tool Storage Chest and Rolling Cabinet Combo in Gloss Black (x5)

The grand prize and category winner selection will be selected from the qualifying projects. The selection committee, which is made up of Metal Supermarkets corporate staff, will consider criteria including complexity, detail and intricacy; scale; uniqueness and creativity; craftmanship; quantity of metal used; and ingenuity when selecting the winners. Entrants can submit multiple projects to the Metal My Way contest but are only eligible to win one prize.
