Smalls Sliders® Continues Texas Growth with Multi-Unit Agreement in North Austin

Trending Cheeseburger Sliders’ Brand Expands Lone Star State Footprint, Surpassing 30 Cans Under Development in Texas Alone

December 19, 2023 // Franchising.com // CENTRAL TEXAS - Smalls Sliders is continuing its impressive growth trajectory with a new multi-unit agreement in North Austin. Inked with esteemed local real estate entrepreneur Jonny Rodgers, the agreement marks the first for the brand within Austin and will bring five units of its signature ‘Can’ model to the area, further eclipsing 30 Cans in development across the Lone Star state.

Rodgers, a prominent figure in the Austin real estate industry for more than 20 years, is an owner and partner of DEN Property Group, an award-winning luxury residential real estate firm in downtown Austin, as well as the founder of the Austin Young Chamber. After first learning of Smalls Sliders through the brand’s buzz on social media, Rodgers took the steps towards franchise ownership.

“I saw posts about Smalls Sliders on Drew Brees’ social media, and the concept immediately piqued my interest,” said Rodgers. “I’m an entrepreneur at heart, and have a passion for hospitality and client satisfaction, which Smalls is also big on. After meeting with the corporate team, I knew they were building something special and I wanted to be a part of it.”

Rodgers’ first Smalls Sliders Can will target the Central Texas territory, aiming to open in early 2025. The remaining Cans will follow shortly thereafter. In addition to Rodgers’ focus on guest experience, he is committed to remaining involved in his local communities by supporting organizations such as Community First! Village and the Carment Kiara Track Club.

“As we grow the Smalls Sliders brand and continue to build our presence across the country, a key element of our expansion has been partnering with established community leaders like Jonny,” said Maria Rivera, CEO of Smalls Sliders. “His success in real estate, commitment to hospitality and dedication to bettering his local community is not only admirable, but it also exemplifies our values as a brand, and we look forward to our continued partnership.”

Smalls Sliders opened its first restaurant in 2019 and has since grown to more than 125 locations open or under development. The restaurant concept has already garnered industry recognition, with QSR magazine featuring the brand in its “40/40 List for 2022: America's Hottest Startup Fast Casuals” and its 2023 QSR 50 Contenders list. Other accolades include Nation’s Restaurant News naming the brand as one of the publication’s “Breakout Brands of 2023,” in addition to ranking on this year’s Entrepreneur magazine “Top New & Emerging Franchises” list.
