Pokeworks to Offer Innovative Impact Food Plant-Based Tuna Dishes for Limited Time

February 22, 2024 // Franchising.com // IRVINE, Calif. - Pokeworks has maintained an ongoing commitment to give diners new and delicious menu options. Recent menu additions included Keto Bowls, Pressed Sushi and Flame-Cooked Salmon, as well as dishes created to satisfy people seeking vegan, keto-friendly, and both raw and cooked proteins.

Beginning Monday, Feb. 27 in California’s Bay Area, and later in March in New York City, Pokeworks diners can try out the minimally processed, 100% plant-based, sushi-grade tuna for guests who love the light and fresh flavors of poke but are looking for plant-based options – or for anyone curious to try out something new. Diners can choose from a variety of signature poke bowls or create their custom bowls with the new plant-based tuna as a protein option for a limited time.

The plant-based tuna – created by Impact Food, a company focused on producing delicious, healthy and sustainable alternatives to seafood – is made from a combination of pea protein and seaweed. An ethical alternative to conventional tuna, Impact Tuna features an appealing umami taste with a melt-in-your-mouth texture that is filled with nutrition, without harming the environment.

To encourage guests to “try before they buy,” Pokeworks will offer samples of the plant-based tuna on launch day at the SoMa (San Francisco) and Union Square (New York City) locations. In addition, interested diners in both markets will be able to order this plant-based tuna as an option for any catering orders placed in these markets while available. Guests can visit catering.pokeworks.com to place their orders.

“As we strive to create a memorable dining experience for guests with dietary preferences of any kind, we are diligently listening and implementing action to address our consumer’s feedback, and the desire for more plant-based options continually grows,” said Mike Wu, Co-Founder of Pokeworks. “We are thrilled to partner with Impact Food once again to introduce this unique protein offering to our New York City and Bay Area diners.”

The plant-based tuna will be available in both markets while supplies last.
