School of Rock York is Sounding Off in Pennsylvania With New Music Education School

March 22, 2024 // Franchising.com // YORK, Pa. - School of Rock will be celebrating the opening of its school in York, Pennsylvania with an event taking place at 930 S. Richland Ave., Suite 6, on Sunday, March 24 from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m.. The event will feature live performances from School of Rock Baltimore’s House Band and School of Rock York’s students and staff. The event will also feature a raffle drawing for one free month of any School of Rock music education program. Additionally, those signing up at the grand opening event for a summer music camp will save $50 off the enrollment fee.

School of Rock York is owned by Bernadette Lauer who found her way to music after working in emergency services and then spending most of her career in corporate communications. For Lauer the career change to owning a School of Rock just made sense. Lauer’s love for music and her passion for community involvement brought her to School of Rock, and it’s been the perfect fit to her journey. School of Rock York soft-opened in November 2023 as the first location in the South Central Pennsylvania area, and has been an enriching experience for the students and staff since.

“Music is important in every community and at School of Rock York, we’re committed to doing our part in providing a stellar music education for our students,” said Lauer. “I left my corporate career in search of something that would make a positive impact within my community and I’ve found that with School of Rock. We hope to bring joy to the community through music for years to come.”

School of Rock provides students of all ages an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz and Led Zeppelin. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.

“Bernadette is exactly the type of person we look for to lead a School of Rock franchise. She is passionate about her community and eager to provide opportunities for students to further their music education,” said Stacey Ryan, COO of School of Rock. “ York is home to several popular rock ‘n’ roll bands, such as Halestorm and Live who have contributed to the diverse music scene. I look forward to watching School of Rock York grow as their students thrive in a county rich with musical culture and passionate music-lovers.”
