April 12, 2024 // Franchising.com // Cincinnati, OH - Jane Yousey, Director of Organizational Learning and Development at FirstLight Home Care, has been recognized as an inaugural member of Aging Media’s Class of 2024 Memory Care Innovation Awards. This program honors the people focused on providing innovative cognitive care delivery across behavioral health, home health and home care, hospice and palliative care, senior housing and senior living, and skilled nursing industries.

Each nominee’s vision is unique, but they are all centered on the same mission: delivering high-quality cognitive care, boosting health outcomes for those with memory-related disorders, and supporting those who care for them.

FirstLight Home Care CEO Glee McAnanly is proud to have Jane’s innovative work recognized. “As someone who has known Jane for more than 20 years, I have witnessed firsthand her impact on improving the lives of individuals living with memory-related challenges.

Jane has a rare combination of vision, compassion, and expertise that sets her apart as a true pioneer in the field,” Glee says.

Jane is being recognized as a Memory Care Innovator for developing FirstLight Home Care’s Compassionate Memory Care Program, designed to join the journey of those with dementia by adapting the overall approach to care. FirstLight’s care professionals modify communications, tasks, and the environment to ensure those in their care have their best day, whatever that means for them.

“In the life of someone with memory loss and dementia, often hope is lost- hope for a cure, hope to slow cognitive changes down, hope to hold onto memories slipping away, and hope to be able to have a good day, every day,” Jane says. “At FirstLight, our caregivers bring back hope with their compassionate approach and knowledgeable understanding of not only the client but the journey of dementia. It is my privilege to care for our caregivers by providing training tools for success in Compassionate Memory Care.”
