Practicing Music at Home is Now Fun and Rewarding with Bach to Rock Music School’s New Student Portal and Incentive Program

May 16, 2024 // // Bethesda, MD - Bach to Rock is helping its students say goodbye to boring music practice at home with the introduction of the MyB2R Rewards Program that was launched on May 6. With the launch of the new student portal on MyB2R, Bach to Rock is incentivizing students to practice at home or on the go. MyB2R is an online tool originally developed for parents to track homework, monitor student progress, and access lesson materials, student history and the Bach to Rock song library. With the introduction of the new portal, students will have access to their own profile, which they can practice alongside, as the portal tracks time. Students earn rewards for every minute they track their practice time. The more a student practices, the better the rewards.

Brian Gross, President of Bach to Rock, stated, “The goal is to encourage and motivate students to practice, as they earn rewards and build confidence in their skills at the same time. Practice minutes accumulate, and rewards are given when a new rank is achieved. Students will earn incentives like digital badges and prizes from their local schooljust for tracking their practice time in MyB2R. It is like a frequent-flyer program for our student musicians.”

The initiative has been in development for the last eight months and was led by Bach to Rock Vice President of Technology and Curriculum, Aaron Schmidt. “The student portal completes the chain. Teachers assign homework, students see assignments and track their practice time, and parents can check in to see how their child is progressing. The extra motivation to practice will help our students progress even more quickly with our innovative curriculum as they learn songs and get out into their communities to perform,” stated Schmidt.

All actively enrolled students are eligible for the Bach to Rock rewards program. Students simply log in to their MyB2R account, press the “start practice session” button to log their time, and rewards start accumulating for completing practice streaks or beating weekly records. More practice results in more and better rewards.

“Student and franchisee feedback has been very positive,” continued Schmidt. “Students are excited to earn rewards, and our franchisees appreciate this unique tool that most locally owned music schools do not offer. We have completed the circle by combining access to homework assignments, songs, and rewards.”
