School of Rock Somerville is Ready to Rock N’ Roll With New Grand Opening

June 03, 2024 // Franchising.com // SOMERVILLE, NJ - School of Rock celebrated the opening of its school in Somerville, New Jersey with an event taking place at 14 Davenport St. on Saturday, June 1. The even included performances from the House Band and Adult Program, face painting, giveaways and free ice cream for guests to enjoy.

School of Rock Somerville is owned by Dante Cimino and partners John and Kristin Epstein. Cimino is an avid music lover and musician who traveled the world and performed in several bands before finding his way to School of Rock in 1998 as a teacher and later as a music director for three different School of Rock locations. The Epstein’s also have a passion for music and are parents of former School of Rock students. In 2021 Cimino partnered with the couple to open School of Rock Somerville and bring music education to more students. The local School of Rock community began to grow and in 2023 the Epsteins and Cimino began looking for a new location and acquired a building for School of Rock Somerville to expand, providing twice the amount of space for more lessons and students to learn. The relocation of the school is now opening this weekend with a grand event.

"Music is probably the only real magic I’ve encountered in my life. There’s not some trick involved with it, it’s pure and it’s real. It moves, it heals and it communicates. Once admitted to the soul, it becomes sort of a spirit and never leaves,” said Dante Cimino, owner of School of Rock Somerville. “With the passion and dedication of myself, John and Kristin we are thrilled to open the new school and provide this life-changing experience to our students and the community."

School of Rock provides students of all ages with an exciting and engaging music lesson experience, which includes bass lessons, guitar lessons, singing lessons, drum lessons and piano lessons. Drawing from all styles of rock and roll, School of Rock students learn theory and techniques via songs from legendary artists such as Aretha Franklin, Lenny Kravitz and Led Zeppelin. Thanks to the school’s performance-based approach, students around the world have gained superior musical proficiency, with some moving on to record deals and larger platforms such as American Idol, The Voice and Broadway.
