Bennigan’s Celebrates National Monte Cristo Day in Legendary Fashion

September 13, 2024 // Franchising.com // DALLAS – A sandwich has to be Legendary to earn its own holiday – and that’s exactly what inspired Bennigan’s to create National Monte Cristo Day on Sept. 17.

This year, only on Tuesday, Sept. 17 – which, not coincidentally, is also Halfway to St. Paddy’s Day – guests will receive a FREE Monte Cristo™ with the purchase of an entrée of equal or greater value at *participating locations. 
Bennigan’s signature sandwich gained its status by layering honey wheat bread, ham, turkey, American and Swiss cheeses, then gently dipping it in a signature batter and frying it to golden perfection. Then, it’s served with sweet and tangy red raspberry preserves for dipping.

Bennigan’s fall menu celebration will also feature their annual Oktoberfest-inspired items, including an Oktoberfest Burger, Beer Cheese Soup and Reuben Fritters. It’s the perfect excuse to gather with friends and release your inner Irish-ness.

Of course, Bennigan’s has seasonal drinks covered, too. From now through Oct. 8, “The American Legend” will serve handcrafted fall-inspired cocktails that perfectly pair with the World Famous Monte Cristo™. Guests can cheer the cooler season with these specialty cocktails:

Tableside Irish Coffee − Experience Bennigan’s Irish Coffee assembled tableside with Paddy’s Irish Whiskey, gourmet coffee and topped with a collar of fresh, hand-crafted whipped cream. This potent coffee is served with a sugar rim. Sláinte!

Sweater Weather Breeze − Feel the cool autumn breeze with a handcrafted blend of fresh muddled mint, lime juice, Paddy’s Irish Whiskey, Monin Granny Smith Apple, Finest Call Mojito Mix and Sprite®.

Autumn Sangria − Enjoy the fall flavors of Stoli Razberi Vodka, Fireball Cinnamon Whisky, White Zinfandel, Finest Call Peach Puree and Red Bull Yellow Edition. Served in a mason jar with an orange and lemon wheel, this drink will have guests ready to jump in a big pile of leaves.

Samuel Adams® Octoberfest – It’s a Legendary pairing when guests wash down their Monte Cristo with a Samuel Adams® Octoberfest. Renowned as a malt lover’s dream, it masterfully blends five roasts of barley to create a delicious harmony of sweet flavors, including caramel and toffee. The beer is kept from being overly sweet by the elegant bitterness imparted by German Noble hops.

Spiced Irish Cran-Apple – Like a wassail on steroids, this drink includes Paddy’s Irish Whiskey, DeKuyper Sour Apple Pucker, and Fireball Cinnamon Whisky – topped with cranberry juice, apple juice, a touch of grenadine and fresh apple slices.
