SYNERGY Homecare Unveils Its Newest North Carolina Location

September 13, 2024 // Franchising.com // Tempe, Ariz. –SYNERGY® HomeCare has announced its newest franchise located in Eastern North Carolina, SYNERGY HomeCare of Kinston.

The company is led by Adam and Claire Sugg, two Eastern North Carolina natives who want to give back to their local community.

Located at 105 W Caswell St. Suite 207 in Kinston, the company assists residents of Lenoir, Greene, Pitt, and Craven counties with a wide variety of non-medical in-home care options, from companion care to personal care and respite care.

The Suggs saw a growing need for these services, particularly among Baby Boomers. U.S. Census statistics show that 10,000 Baby Boomers are turning 65 every day and that by 2030, there will be more than 70 million people over 65. According to the AARP, over 90% of this demographic reports wanting to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.

Adam began his finance career after earning his undergraduate degree from East Carolina University and his master’s from Maryville University. He works in the finance industry. After 6 years working in a large bank and gaining lots of experience, he went on to pursue a different type of lending, mortgage. After continual growth and expansion in multiple North Carolina markets, Adam could finally move close to his family where he belongs. Currently, Adam is a Finance Manager for an aircraft manufacturer.

Claire received her undergraduate degree at the College of Charleston and completed a master’s in the Arts from Sotheby’s Institute of Art. She spent most of her early career working in the art industry, specifically in sales and management. Claire saw an opportunity to move to Atlanta, where she got into the art consulting industry and eventually moved back to North Carolina. Most recently, she managed a team of art consultants while flexing to a new role focused on training and improving company culture over a span of 6 years.

Both Adam and Claire have parents in the healthcare industry, with Adam’s mother working as a nurse for over 30 years and Claire’s father being a local physician for over 30 years as well. With this background and their skills in business, sales, customer service, and management, the Suggs will be able to build on their family’s legacy in healthcare and create trustworthy relationships with both their caregivers and clients.

The Suggs value the power of family and hard work. They both moved back home to be closer to family and build new roots. It’s this affinity for family that inspired the Suggs to enter the home care business.

“As our loved ones age, we see the need for trusted, well-managed, and nationally supported home care in our area,” said Claire. “Opening SYNERGY Homecare of Kinston has now provided us with the means to truly serve our loved ones and give back to our local community.”

Eastern North Carolina is home to many veterans and an idyllic place for retirement. This area is also home to 3 state of the art medical centers in Greenville, New Bern, and Kinston, which provide a continually growing population for the Suggs to serve. Many members of their community will need to rely on caregivers for additional assistance with cooking, shopping, running errands, doing light housekeeping, or going for walks. Some even require personal care, such as help with bathing, dressing or using the toilet.

“We want to be a trusted home care service that our loved ones will use one day,” said Adam. “Our focus is to establish a foundation of management and company culture that encourages our caregivers and ultimately provides exceptional service to our clients so they can be comfortable and well cared for at home.”
