Beloved Childcare Educator Surprised with $10K for 10-Year Milestone
January 08, 2025 // Franchising.com // MINNEAPOLIS, MM-Tierra Encantada is thrilled to celebrate Anita Hernandez’s 10-year work anniversary with a $10,000 gift. This milestone reflects her dedication, patience, and deep care for her students.
Anita is a passionate educator who has dedicated her life to nurturing and educating young children. With over two decades of experience, her career journey reflects her unwavering commitment to childcare and early education. Anita began her journey with Tierra Encantada in 2015, when the company had just one location in Eagan, Minnesota. She has worked as an infant, toddler, and preschool teacher at Tierra Encantada, and currently works at the Windom location in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
For the past 10 years, Anita has been an integral part of Tierra Encantada, where her love for children and dedication to their growth have been evident in every aspect of her work. Prior to joining Tierra Encantada, Anita spent four years with another respected childcare company, and prior to that volunteered for a decade, providing care and support to children at her church. Anita’s lifelong devotion to fostering a positive and enriching environment for children has made her an invaluable asset to our team.
“We are honored that Anita has chosen Tierra Encantada to invest her time and talent over the past decade, and thank her for the difference she has made in the lives of so many children,” said Kristen Denzer, Chief Executive Officer. “With the average tenure in the childcare industry being around 2 years, we know how rare 10 years is. This tenure remains possible as long as we do our part to provide a place where employees feel appreciated and are proud to work, and we remain steadfast in our commitment to recognizing the value our staff bring. We are grateful for Anita’s dedication over the years, and excited to be celebrating this milestone with her!”
Tierra Encantada’s program features a play-based curriculum that prepares children for kindergarten and beyond. In a warm and supportive environment, dedicated educators nurture confidence and curiosity as children explore interests like science, music, engineering, and sensory play. In infant classrooms, early communication is fostered through teaching sign language, while full Spanish language immersion cultivates bilingualism from a child’s first words to fluency. Children are able to learn a second language naturally, just as they learn their first language at home—through meaningful conversation and contextual learning.
