Synergy Homecare Opens First Location in the Brazos Valley
February 05, 2025 // Franchising.com // Tempe, Ariz. – SYNERGY® HomeCare has announced its first location in Texas’ Brazos Valley, SYNERGY HomeCare of College Station.
The company is owned and operated by Cletus Udoh, who spent 20 years managing patient support services in different healthcare facilities throughout Austin and Houston and is now bringing his expertise to College Station.
Headquartered at 4101 Texas Ave, S. Suite 205 in Bryan, the company assists the communities of Brazos and Burleson counties, including Bryan, Caldwell, Chriesman, College Station, Deanville, Kurten, Lyons, Millican, Snook, Somerville and Wixon Valley. Udoh and his team of professional caregivers will provide a wide variety of non-medical, in-home care services, from companion care to personal care and respite care.
In his two decades of experience working directly with patients in healthcare facilities, Udoh often heard about the lack of quality support available after discharge. These experiences opened his eyes to the growing need for these services, particularly among Baby Boomers. U.S. Census statistics show that 10,000 Baby Boomers are turning 65 every day and that by 2030, there will be more than 70 million people over 65. According to the AARP, over 80% of this demographic reports wanting to remain in their own homes for as long as possible.
Udoh has been a caregiver throughout his entire life. Growing up in an African family, he was raised on the idea that caring for older relatives is an inherited responsibility, and he was also taught about the importance of faith. These values guided Udoh throughout much of his adult life, as he obtained master’s degrees in theology and counseling psychology, as well as a bachelor’s degree in philosophy. He first put these degrees to use working as a clergyman, where he provided counseling and pastoral support to both the old and young members of his community. Eventually, Udoh went on to become a healthcare professional, working as the manager and director of hospital operations support, and also as a hospital chaplain for 20 years.
Most of Udoh’s time in these roles was spent developing personalized care solutions to help improve quality of life and instill meaning and value into the lives of others. He had always operated on a compassionate, person-centric philosophy, which is why it was so difficult for Udoh to hear about the unfortunate stories his patients would tell about their difficulty finding continued care outside of his facilities. Eventually, he decided to leverage his empathetic work ethic and knowledge of operations to open his own home care company to provide that continued support.
“Throughout my entire life, my goal has always been to enhance the quality of life for others and support their ability to live comfortably,” said Udoh. “I believe that’s only possible by building long-lasting relationships, through honesty, transparency and a commitment to doing everything to the best of my ability. I’ve treated each of my clients as a cherished family member, and now with SYNERGY HomeCare, I promise to continue providing each client with the compassion, empathy, and respect they deserve.”
Like many other cities in Texas, Bryan-College Station has a growing older population that often needs to rely on caregivers for additional assistance cooking, shopping, running errands, doing light housekeeping or going for walks. Some even require personal care, such as help with bathing, dressing or using the toilet.
“Every individual is unique, and so are their care needs,” said Udoh. “Knowing that, I’ve always worked diligently to create custom care plans that honor personal preferences, health conditions, and lifestyles. It’s a privilege to be welcomed into the homes of my fellow community members and provide them with the personalized support that can help them live fulfilling, independent lives.”
