Painting with a Twist Owner Brian Posen Named IFA’s 2024 Franchisee of the Year

February 28, 2025 // Franchising.com // DENVER – The International Franchise Association (IFA) has named Brian Posen as a 2024 Franchisee of the Year. Posen was honored this month at the 65th IFA Annual Convention in Las Vegas for being an outstanding franchise establishment owner-operator.

The Franchisee of the Year Award recognizes leading franchise owners from IFA member brands whose outstanding performance and contributions help protect, enhance and promote the franchise business model. Nominated by their parent company, individuals are selected for their involvement in their communities, embodying the entrepreneurial spirit, fostering a strong and healthy culture with their workforce and assisting their fellow franchisees when called upon.

Posen’s journey with Painting with a Twist began in 2019 when he joined the Lakewood studio as an artist. With a background as an actor and pianist, Posen was drawn to the paint-and-sip concept as both a creative outlet and an opportunity to craft an immersive, entertaining experience for guests. When the opportunity arose to purchase the Lakewood studio in 2022, Posen jumped at the chance and transformed the space from the ground up by building a full bar, revamping the studio with art-filled walls and fostering a culture rooted in positivity, collaboration and entertainment. His vision and dedication propelled the Lakewood location to become one of Painting with a Twist’s top-performing studios in 2024.

Posen’s dedication to create an immersive and engaging experience is demonstrated by his hands-on involvement where he still teaches three to four classes a week. Beyond traditional instructor-led painting sessions, the Lakewood studio offers pop-in-and-DIY sessions, candle-making, slime-making and bottomless mimosa events. Posen and his team take pride in appealing to a variety of demographics and ensuring there’s something for everyone.
