Synergy Homecare Expands to the Jersey Shore With New Toms River Location

April 08, 2025 // Franchising.com // Tempe, Ariz. – SYNERGY® HomeCare has announced the opening of its newest location on the Jersey Shore, SYNERGY HomeCare of Toms River.

Owned and operated by Ivie Omoruyi, a 23-year healthcare professional, certified nurse midwife, and family caregiver, the new office will provide compassionate, non-medical home care services to residents across Ocean County.

Omoruyi and her team offer companion care, personal care, respite care, postnatal care, post-surgical care, and childcare/babysitting services. These services are designed to help individuals live independently while receiving the essential support they need.

Omoruyi’s decision to launch SYNERGY HomeCare of Toms River stems from both professional and personal experiences. Throughout her 23 years in healthcare, she observed the growing demand for quality home care services, particularly among Baby Boomers, who are turning 65 at a rate of 10,000 per day according to the U.S. Census. By 2030, more than 70 million Americans will be 65 or older, with over 80% expressing a desire to age in place, according to AARP.

Omoruyi’s journey into home care is deeply personal. After earning her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing, she built a career as a registered nurse, certified nurse midwife, and advanced registered nurse practitioner, working in hospitals, clinics, and community healthcare settings.

Her caregiving experience, however, extends beyond her profession. As a mother of three—one with special needs—she understands firsthand the challenges of balancing work and caregiving responsibilities. Her role as a caregiver expanded further when her father was diagnosed with prostate cancer, requiring her to travel between New York and Boston to coordinate his care. Despite her best efforts, she struggled with the emotional and physical toll of caregiver burnout—a reality she knows many families face.

“Provider burnout is real, and I understand the physical, emotional, and mental toll it takes,” said Omoruyi. “I was only able to navigate my challenges thanks to a trusted team of caregivers. Their support showed me that home care isn’t just for the elderly—it’s for anyone in need of assistance. Now, I’m dedicated to providing that same level of care to others.”

The need for home-based care is especially significant in Ocean County, where more than 25% of residents are over 65. Many seniors require assistance with daily activities, including meal preparation, errands, light housekeeping, mobility support, and personal care.

“Our mission is to ease the burden on families, empower caregivers, and provide the highest quality of care for those who need it most,” said Omoruyi. “With our diverse experience, we’re here to assist with any caregiving need.”
