National In-Home Care Company Expands in New Jersey with West Essex Office Opening

Backed by a rich professional background in brand marketing and a personal connection to caregiving, Mulgund brings a unique combination of compassion, dedication, and business acumen to the community.

“Growing up around my parents' medical practice and later navigating care options for my own mother as she recovered from chemotherapy, I witnessed both the challenges and the incredible value of responsive, quality in-home care,” said Mulgund. “This business allows me to do what I love—help people—while being fully present in my community and building something meaningful.”

Mulgund, who holds an MBA from UNC Chapel Hill and a bachelor's degree from the University of Maryland, was recently appointed to the board of the Montclair Inn, an independent living facility in Montclair that provides affordable housing for seniors—a reflection of her dedication to supporting the aging population. Now raising two children in Livingston with her husband, she’s especially attuned to the pressures facing today’s “sandwich generation,” as families juggle the demands of caring for both young children and aging parents.

By opening CareBuilders at Home of West Essex, Mulgund saw a chance to make a meaningful impact close to home—meeting the growing need for senior care in a state where more than 17% of the population is over 65.

Additionally, One of Mulgund’s goals is to better serve the large South and East Asian communities in her West Essex community by providing home health aides who speak their preferred languages.

“Since few home care agencies are addressing this need,” Mulgund explains, “I see it as a meaningful niche where we can truly make a difference.”
