Captain D's Franchisees Open 3rd Florida Location

Multi-unit franchisees Toks Achebe and Wanda Davis have expanded their Captain D's portfolio with the opening of a new restaurant in Gainesville, Florida, continuing their growth across North Central Florida.

The new 2,172-square-foot restaurant is located at 209 NW 75th Street in the Tower Center Shopping Mall, just off Newberry Street. The end-cap location includes a drive-thru and seating for 36 guests.

Achebe and Davis have Captain D's restaurants in Ocala and Palatka and a Dairy Queen location in Ocala. They elected Gainesville for their latest expansion after identifying the market's strong energy and food culture.

"Gainesville is a dynamic city, and if you're in the food business, you have to have a presence here," Achebe said. "We know Captain D's will quickly become a new neighborhood favorite for its fresh, high-quality seafood, convenience, and friendly service. We look forward to introducing this outstanding fast-casual brand to the community."

Captain D's Chief Development Officer Brad Reed said the franchisees' experience and real estate strategy made Gainesville a natural fit for the brand's continued growth in Florida.
