CEO Q&A: What Are Your Favorite Occasions To Send Employees Notes?

CEO Q&A: What Are Your Favorite Occasions To Send Employees Notes?

In each issue of Franchise Update magazine we profile franchise CEOs and presidents, asking each the same set of questions. Throughout the year, we'll be selecting one of those questions - and providing answers from those profiles. Want to learn more about these franchise leaders and their thoughts on other topics? Easy - click the links we've included with their responses to read their full profile.

This week's question: What are your favorite occasions to send employees notes?

Brian Petranick, CEO and President, RiseMark Brands
Personal celebrations/challenges such as the birth of a child, birthdays, passing of a family member, etc. I also send notes recognizing great efforts, or when someone demonstrates behaviors that live out our mission or values. Read the full profile here.

Tammy Whitworth, Chair and CEO, Window World
I prefer to send employees notes when something happens in their personal lives, rather than it having to do with business. I like to send notes that highlight big events in their lives such as a wedding or new baby, or if they get recognized for something at their church or in the community. Read the full profile here.

Shannon Hudson, CEO and Co-Founder, 9Round Franchising
I don't do this much, but perhaps I should start doing so more often! Read the full profile here.

Nicole Ossenfort, CEO and President, Liberty Tax
When they exceed expectations or when they surprise me by doing something out of the ordinary. Read the full profile here.

Bette Fetter, CEO and Founder, Young Rembrandts
I do holiday and year-end notes, but I also like to find random times to send notes and tell them they're great. Read the full profile here.

Jon Nobis, CEO, Two Men and a Truck
When you see them go above and beyond what was required because of an internal desire to take care of people. Read the full profile here.

Larry Oberly, CEO and President, SpeedPro Imaging
Anytime. I'll admit that I'm not as consistent as I plan. I seem to send in spurts, recognizing successes and major events for a few months. I'm working on improving on this. Read the full profile here.

Rob Price, CEO and President, School of Rock
I try to send acknowledgments whenever possible. Read the full profile here.
