KBP Foods is one of the largest YUM! Brands franchisees in the world - and the company is getting bigger. KBP Foods just announced it has added 78 KFC restaurants to its portfolio - 41 in Austin and Houston, Texas, 33 in Chicago, and four in Lawrence and Topeka, Kansas. The move brings the company's total store count to 530 KFC and Taco Bell restaurants across 20 states.

"This has been a pivotal year for our business," says Mike Kulp, president & CEO, KBP Foods. "We have achieved meaningful growth by adding density in key markets such as Chicago and Texas. As we continue to grow, we remain focused on driving value for the business and creating career advancement opportunities for our teams. These acquisitions achieve both of those goals."

During 2017, the Overland Park, Kansas-based KBP Foods has increased its store count by 166 units through a combination of new builds and approximately $185 million in acquisitions, driving revenues upward of $600 million.

Officials say expect more growth from KBP Foods in 2018. The company is well positioned for future growth having closed on a debt refinance earlier this year. The refinance was led by existing lender AB Private Credit Investors, LLC and provides KBP with sufficient capital to approximately double the size of its business over the coming years.
