Budget Blinds Gains Momentum In Multi-billion Dollar Window Covering Industry

ORANGE, CALIFORNIA (Tuesday, March 02, 2004) - Budget Blinds, the largest and fastest growing window covering franchise in the United States serving 2,000 cities nationwide, is poised to dominate the $5.3 billion window covering industry with projections calling for the addition of 300 franchises this year alone. On average, Budget Blinds is opening approximately 20 locations per month across the nation.

To achieve 40 to 50 percent market share by 2010, Budget Blinds recently created and launched a marketing plan that includes an aggressive national consumer advertising campaign, targeted local advertising support for franchisees, and new marketing materials and web resources for consumers and franchisee support. The company also continually refines and develops new products, tools and tactics to increase revenue.

"We're unstoppable because we live by our founding principle of setting our franchisees up for success on every level, rather than merely selling franchises, " said Chad Hallock, president. "The 'bigger is better' philosophy is not in our strategy for sustaining manageable franchise system growth."

Franchise territories are comprised of approximately 32,000 households, at least half the size of the typical territory in the industry. A smaller territory allows franchise owners to provide much better service and attention to each customer, without having to hire additional staff or purchase more vehicles. Hallock explained that most companies unwittingly put franchisees out of business before they even start by granting territories that are too large for entrepreneurs to properly manage and finance. Budget Blinds franchisees also have no inventory to carry, can work from their homes and set their own hours.

"Our business model is designed to build market share and top of mind awareness on local and national levels," Hallock said. "The sky is virtually the limit for energetic men and women seeking franchise opportunities with our company."

About Budget Blinds

Budget Blinds history of success started in 1992 after five 20-something friends were laid off by a failing window coverings firm and regrouped to form their own business. Customers immediately responded to the convenience and high quality, reasonably priced products. Unlike storefront window covering companies, Budget Blinds went directly into consumers' homes to display, measure and install customized products themselves. During the worst economy in Orange County's history, Budget Blinds averaged more than $100,000 per month in sales. Within two years the company began franchising. Growth has been fast and furious ever since. In 2003, Budget Blinds added more than 250 franchises, the highest number of franchises sold in a single year in company history.

Budget Blinds currently has more than 620 franchises serving 2,000 cities in 46 states. As consumer demand for its quality, convenient services continues to grow, Budget Blinds is on its way to dominating the $5.3 billion window covering market. In the past four years, the company has more than doubled its size in terms of number of franchisees, franchisee sales and franchise equity. Entrepreneur Magazine has named Budget Blinds the No.1 firm in its field for nine consecutive years.
