Students At North Park Elementary School In Valencia Celebrate Free Pizza Party From Garlic Jim's Famous Courment Pizza®

Written on: Wednesday, July 18, 2007

VALENCIA, CA (JULY 2007) –In conjunction with the first annual "National Pizza Party Day" Garlic Jim's Famous Gourmet Pizza of Valencia, California, was honored to award a free pizza party to Mrs. Klepfer's sixth grade class of North Park Elementary School in Valencia. Parents with students in the class nominated the classroom during recent visits to the Valencia location and they were awarded their free party on June 4.

Garlic Jim's invited their customers to go on-line at http://www.pizzaweek.com/during the week of May 7-14 and nominate their favorite teacher and classroom for a free pizza party. Parties were awarded within the trade areas of every store. With hundreds of nominations company-wide, over half of the parties were held on National Pizza Party Day, May 18 –but others, like Mrs. Klepfer's sixth grade class, opted to celebrate on a day of their choosing.

Joe and Sally Brown, owners of the Valencia Garlic Jim's, delivered pizzas, soda and ice cream in person and celebrated with the class until every pizza slice was gone. "We were able to show our support for the local schools in a fun way- not to mention that we walked away feeling like we were part of something really special," said owner Joe Brown. "The kids loved the pizza and enjoyed their time together as a class after working through a particularly tough year and supporting Mrs. Klepfer through a difficult illness. Mrs. Klepfer is an extraordinary teacher who taught our own children several years back, and we were humbled by her devotion and love for her pupils. Her class was very deserving of the party."

Additionally, the class was very gracious with their appreciation for their free pizza party. All 30 students made thank you cards, all of which are displayed in the lobby of the Brown's Valencia store.

In conjunction with Chase's Calendar of Events, the most comprehensive and authoritative reference available on special events and worldwide holidays, this special day is solely sponsored by Garlic Jim's every third Friday of May, nationwide, for years to come. With rapid on-going national growth, Garlic Jim's anticipates 2008 and each year thereafter to be a huge celebration.

"We're honored to have been chosen by Chase's Calendar of Events as the pizza franchise to celebrate 'National Pizza Party Day' in 2007 and beyond," says Dwayne Northrop, chairman and CEO, Garlic Jim's. "Garlic Jim's was overwhelmed with nominations for free pizza parties from hundreds of people who took the time to nominate their favorite teachers with thoughtful explanations of why these teachers were worthy of receiving a free pizza party for their classes."

As the number of Garlic Jim's increase in 2008, Garlic Jim's anticipates receiving more than double the amount of nominations they received in 2007. National Pizza Party Day will soon be a holiday known in every household nationwide. Calendars are already marked for National Pizza Party Day 2008–Friday, May 16. Details to follow!

At Garlic Jim's the term 'gourmet' signifies more than just the finished pizza – it refers to the finest ingredients: fresh packed sauces, fresh 100% whole-milk mozzarella and fresh dough made daily, where the customer can certainly taste the difference. Garlic Jim's offers customers two crust choices; hand-thrown thick crust, made with parmesan cheese and buttermilk, or garlic thin; four cheese options: 100% whole-milk mozzarella, cheddar, feta and parmesan; seven sauces: classic red, garlic basil, basil pesto, zesty chipotle pesto, creamy ranch, smoky sweet BBQ or fresh basil and olive oil, and a variety of meats, vegetables and gourmet toppings such as roasted garlic, marinated artichoke hearts, roasted corn and sun-dried tomatoes.

With gourmet pizzas such as Nutty Chipotle™, zesty chipotle pesto topped with spicy sausage, pepperoni, red onions, tomatoes and cashews, Jim's Gourmet Garlic™, basil pesto sauce, marinated artichoke hearts, roasted garlic, sun-dried tomatoes and feta cheese, and Chicken Bacon Ranch, grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, tomatoes, red onions and creamy ranch sauce, Garlic Jim's is putting a new spin on pizza.
