THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill is celebrating the grand opening of its 15th San Diego location with a new restaurant at 2400 Historic Decatur Road in the Liberty Station Marketplace. The new 2100 square foot location can seat up to 100 guests with its indoor and outdoor seating areas. Additionally, the restaurant boasts large screen TVs that will televise all San Diego Chargers football games. As part of the grand opening celebration and to honor the brave men and women in the armed services, La Salsa will give away a complimentary Taco La Salsa Friday, November 23, 2007 to all military personnel and their families with valid military IDs at the new restaurant located in the Liberty Station Marketplace.

The new Liberty Station Restaurant is being operated by R&R Enterprises (the Valle Family, La Salsa's first franchisees since 1988) and it joins their flagship location located at 8750 Genesee Ave. at the Costa Verde Shopping Center in La Jolla. The Liberty Station La Salsa will also offer catering and will be active in community events that are being planned in the NTC Promenade and Liberty Station.

"We are very excited to open our second La Salsa location in San Diego and also to give back to the local community through supporting our troops which make up a large population in the area," said franchise operator, Odette Valle. "San Diego has embraced La Salsa and we will continue to offer our patrons fresh, bold Mexican fare at a reasonable price."

La Salsa Fresh Mexican Grill offers a wide array of contemporary fresh Mexican fare served in a relaxed casual environment. Guests of the quick casual restaurant order at the counter, pick up their drinks, visit the signature salsa bar and choose their seat. It appeals to both the business lunch crowd looking for a quick meal and to individuals looking to meet friends or family for dinner. Popular menu items include the Chipotle Shrimp Salad™, Carnitas Guadalajara™ Tacos, top-selling Grande Burrito and the signature Stuffed Fajita Quesadilla™. The salsa bar will feature an unparalleled selection of seven freshly prepared salsa varieties including Mango, Avocado, Chile de Arbol, Habanero, Buena, Mexicana and Roasted Tomato. Menu items range in price from $3.99 to $7.99. A children's menu and vegetarian items also are available.

The La Salsa concept was born during a pioneering road trip to Mexico in the late 1970s, when the company's founding fathers were lured south by pristine beaches and the promise of adventure. But it was the food that truly defined their experience, opening their eyes to the bold tastes and flavors of Mexico. Inspired by their travels, they opened the first La Salsa in 1979, which would grow into a thriving nationwide collection of more than 100 restaurants. The concept was simple: combine the flavors and recipes of Mexico with the freshest ingredients available. This philosophy remains in place today, and La Salsa is constantly updating its menu to reflect the spirit of Mexico's many culinary influences, with dishes inspired by the seafood of Baja, slow-roasted pork carnitas from Guadalajara, creamy beans from Chihuahua and bright sauces from Monterrey.
