"We had an overwhelmingly terrific response from our Huddle House customers and franchisees regarding this prize giveaway," said Phil Greifeld, CEO of the 430-unit Huddle House. "We truly enjoy offering our loyal customers these types of fun promotions that create excitement and friendly competition across the system."

The Daytona 500 giveaway was first prize in the promotion, and the grand prize of $100,000, that was supposed to be given out to one winner who correctly spelled out "HUDDLE" on a winning scratch off ticket, went unclaimed as not one customer was able to effectively get the correct letters together to win the prize. Other prize winners won Columbia Sportswear Gift Packs; a Fox SportSouth Gift Packs; $25 AMEX Gift Cards; and Bill Elliott 2007 Daytona T-shirts.

"We aimed to put together prizes that made participating in the 100K Giveaway enticing to our customers," said Robyn Bailey, Chief Marketing Officer for Huddle House. "Putting the components of the Daytona package together has been a lot of fun, and we couldn't be happier to pass it along to Mr. Weathers."

The Daytona 500 prize is a three day trip that includes two round trip plane tickets, a mid-size rental car for duration of stay, hotel accommodations, and two Grand Stand tickets to the Daytona 500 race.

"This will be the trip of a lifetime," said Weathers. "I can't thank Huddle House enough for having such an awesome prize giveaway. Now I have to live in anticipation before I can enjoy this amazing trip. Race time can't come soon enough."

Additionally, this promotion was a way to launch Huddle House's new menu, where each prize ticket included an instant scratch off where winners could win free coffee, biscuits & gravy, hash browns, and a side of bacon or sausage.

The new menu is part of the chain's work on enhancing its already positive image by adding new décor to its locations and rolling out a new menu with updated items. The new menu relates to a broader taste while still staying true to its original favorites. The menu includes additions such as the new Waffle Platter along with Country Fried Steak and Eggs and Onion Rings.
