Franktitude earns easy ownership distinction from QSR Magazine

December 10, 2007 // Franchising.com // Miami, Fla. – Franktitude's no-fuss operations landed the gourmet frankfurter, salad and sandwich chain on QSR Magazine's Best of 2007 list. Published in QSR's December 2007 edition, the awards program recognized the frankfurter concept as "Best Option for Part-Time Restaurateurs."

QSR's annual report highlights restaurant industry introductions, promotions, products, operations and growth strategies that stand out for ingenuity and impact.

The five-unit fast-casual chain, that built its success on healthful franks and a number of imaginative toppings, makes ownership easy because the operation does not require prior restaurant experience or cooking. All of the toppings are delivered washed, sliced and pre-packaged, eliminating all prep detail.

"Franktitude was created by somebody without any restaurant experience," said Ari Wurmann, Franktitude's founder and CEO. "You don't need a PhD to run a Franktitude, which leaves more time to focus on marketing the restaurant and increasing sales rather than running the operation."

Founded in Miami in 2006, Franktitude embarked on franchised expansion this summer with the sale of their first franchise near Miami. The five-unit chain plans to open 100 stores in the next five years The franchise fee to open one unit is $25,000, but franchisees can invest in the rights to two units for $40,000 and three for $50,000. The cost to open a Franktitude location is $130,000 to $250,000. A mentoring program assists first-time franchisees with site selection, marketing, construction, accounting, hiring, training and quality control. Franktitude also has resources to connect franchisees with investors who can help raise capital for franchise locations.
