Raising The Roof Of Economy Lodging In Santa Fe, NM

May 16, 2008 // Franchising.com // SANTA FE, NM - Red Roof, the invariable preference of the economy traveler, has made its way to Santa Fe, New Mexico. Built according to the Smart-by-Design® interior and exterior guidelines of Red Roof's Redesigned, Rededicated renovation project, the Santa Fe property features a heated outdoor pool, micro-fridges in all rooms, complimentary coffee and USA Today newspapers in the lobby, voicemail, high speed wireless internet, and cable TV with over 60 channels (including HBO, HBO2 and HBO signature).

Conveniently located in the foothills of the Rockies, the Santa Fe location offers the perfect, affordable spot for a respite after exploring the Santa Fe National Forest or after spending the day skiing, fly-fishing, or taking a dip in a nearby hot spring. The property also features updated and modern draperies, artwork and furniture.

"Red Roof is committed to serving even the most discriminating traveler and that is reflected in our upgraded exterior and interior renovations," says Red Roof CEO, Joseph Wheeling.

The converted location in Santa Fe joins other Red Roof properties, nearly 70 percent of which have undergone renovations over the past five years. These renovations translate to approximately $250 million spent and more than 20,000 renovated rooms.

Although its 350 nationwide properties are primarily concentrated in the Northeast and Central U.S., the Santa Fe opening is just the start of a new blueprint for expansion. The blueprint will also be carried out with a recently unveiled NextGen prototype. This cost-efficient prototype includes luxurious bathrooms that feature granite countertops, vessel sinks and oversized walk-in showers with spa-inspired rain-flow showerheads, workspaces with ergonomic seating and Love-your-Linens plush bedding. They are luxurious upgrades that won't cost consumers as Red Roof does not plan to increase its nightly rates.

"Red Roof is a brand on the move. We are constantly thinking about how we can continue to appeal to existing customers and entice new travelers who come through our doors as they travel across the country. Our new Santa Fe location indicates we are moving in the right direction in terms of expansion and are on the right track in terms of renovations and rebuilds," says Wheeling.
