MOOYAH Burgers & Fries Restaurants to Pepper Arkansas and Louisiana

Better Burger Brand Continues Massive Southeast Expansion

November 01, 2010 // Franchising.com // FRISCO, TX  – MOOYAH Burgers, Fries, and Shakes today announced its expansion into Arkansas and northern Louisiana. The brand, which currently has 15 open locations, just inked deals with six eager new franchisees in the states.

Scott Strzelecki, a Little Rock franchise development agent, is overseeing the new spots and guiding the new franchise owners through the process. “We have six new franchisees ready to go,” says Strzelecki, who expects up to 20 new locations in Little Rock, Jonesboro, Fayetteville, Russellville, Pine Bluff, Texarkana, and Monroe, Louisiana.

“MOOYAH is very young and new, and I’m excited to be involved with them. The consumer is very receptive to this type of concept,” says Strzelecki.

“Considering that the company just began franchising in 2007,” says Rich Hicks, MOOYAH Co-founder, “the growth of the brand has been phenomenal. Tennessee was our first expansion out of Texas, and Arkansas and Louisiana are big steps toward becoming a national brand.”

MOOYAH’s philosophy on food is about simple goodness. The brand boasts fresh-cut potatoes cooked in oil that’s free of trans fat, custom baked buns and 100 percent lean American beef that’s never frozen and has no additives, fillers or preservatives.

Their thick and frosty milkshakes are 100 percent ice cream and come in vanilla, chocolate, strawberry or Oreo.

Our mission is “to deliver the best burger and fry experience ever and have fun doing it,” says Hicks. The fast casual brand, which began with a regional cult following, has quickly morphed into a heavy-hitting chain that’s stealing the national spotlight.

According to Technomic, a Chicago-based food industry consulting and research firm, the better burger market currently comprises only two percent of the $65 million burger industry. This means it’s an area primed for major growth.

The restaurant was recently recognized as the #1 restaurant concept in Fast Casual’s “2009 Top 100 Movers and Shakers.”

The brand’s progressive attitude also extends into the world of tech. In October, the company announced a fresh new loyalty program involving mobile membership enrollment and digital coupons. The program is the product of a partnership with Mobestream Media, the creators of the widely used Key Ring app.

MOOYAH customers can register for the Moo Crooloyalty program by downloading the free Key Ring Reward Cards application for their iPhone and Android smart phones. After signing up for the program, customers automatically receive their first Moo Croo coupon: buy one burger, get one free.

“MOOYAH’s goal is to give everyone who comes in a ‘wow’ moment,” says Hicks. “Quality, convenience, service and atmosphere is what we’re all about.”
