Dogtopia Signs Four New Franchise Deals to 'Live, Love & Play' in Delaware, Virginia and New Jersey
Fast-Growing Pet Franchise Further Expands Reach Across U.S.
November 10, 2011 // Franchising.com // Bethesda, MD - After spending the last two years perfecting the business model of the dog daycare franchise, Dogtopia, a leading provider of the highest quality dog daycare in the United States, announced today it has signed four franchise agreements that will bring new locations to South Wilmington, DE; Midlothian, VA; Union County, NJ and Springfield, VA.
Below are details on the four franchise agreements signed by the company:
- Tammy Holm and her daughter Christine will open Delaware’s second location in South Wilmington in 2012. The mother/daughter duo has been loyal customers of Delaware’s first location since its inception. With their love for dogs and itch to own a business, Dogtopia was an obvious choice.
- Bob Murphy and his wife, Mary Beth will open a Dogtopia in Midlothian, VA in early 2012. Proud owners of three Chesapeake Bay Retrievers, the couple is excited to bring their love and commitment for canines and apply it toward their new Dogtopia business.
- Adrienne Taub Weber will open a location in Union County, NJ in 2012. She has been in the corporate world of insurance most of her life and was looking for a change. Her ‘never say never’ mentality led her to pursue her true passion and work in the pet industry.
- Amber Sutton, Dogtopia’s first multi-unit owner, will be opening her second location in Springfield, VA in early 2012. The decision to open another location was easy after the success of her first Dogtopia in Woodbridge.
“We’re in a great place now to expand the reach of our brand and services into more communities,” said Mike Schlegel, Vice President of Franchise Development. “We take passionate dog lovers and create exceptional business and we are excited about these new additions to the Dogtopia system. The growth of the franchise means that even more pet owners will soon have access to the high quality dog daycare and customer service we offer.”
Along with the expansion of the concept this year, Amy Nichols, CEO and Founder of Dogtopia, is expected to announce an innovation in the pet care industry with the launch of unique pet care product that will appeal to both consumers and business owners in early 2012.
Since launching in 2002, Dogtopia has grown to 24 locations nationwide. Dogtopia’s design mirrors that of a chic, upscale spa. Laid out in a similar manner to a children’s daycare facility, Dogtopia has multiple playrooms to suit every personality and size. In addition to daycare and boarding, Dogtopia also offers a spa, self-service dog wash, and boutique to pamper pooches. Dogtopia’s clients enjoy an open layout with play equipment and special rubber flooring to ease joints, prevent slipping, and provide for safer play. Pet parents can also log onto Dogtopia’s website and view their dogs as they play with their multi-room web camera system that is in all of their locations.
