IKOR Enjoys Strong Finish To 2011 And Heads Into New Year With Multiple Openings On Deck

Franchise Agreements Heralding Entry Into Florida and North Carolina and Continued Expansion in Texas, New Jersey and Pennsylvania Highlight A Year of Growth As More See Need for Healthcare Advocacy and Guardianship.

January 10, 2012 // Franchising.com // KENNETT SQUARE, Pa. – IKOR USA (www.ikorusa.com), a growing network of healthcare advocacy and guardianship offices serving seniors, the disabled and those with special needs, today announced completion of several single- and multi-unit franchise deals that will introduce the growing healthcare advocacy and guardianship network to Florida and North Carolina and continue its expansion in Texas, New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

On October 25, 2011, Best Kare LLC signed franchise agreements for two units to cover Orange County and Hillsborough County in Florida, both expected to open in February 2012. Each agreement carries an option for an additional territory, one for Polk, Osceola and Lake Counties and the other for Charlotte, DeSoto, Hardee, Highlands, Manatee and Sarasota Counties, giving the franchisee exclusivity across a large portion of central Florida. The principals of Best Kare also are multi-unit franchise operators in Florida of Murphy Business & Financial Corp., the nation’s largest business brokerage firm.

IKOR also signed a franchise agreement on November 4, 2011 for a single unit in Raleigh, N.C., that should open in April 2012. The following week, on November 9, 2011, one of IKOR’s existing Dallas/Fort Worth franchisees signed up for a second unit and the area’s third overall. And last month, IKOR secured its first multi-state franchise agreement for a single unit that will cover Bucks County in Pennsylvania and Mercer County in New Jersey.

“Our latest group of newly signed franchisees offers a very impressive mix of talents and experience and we’re thrilled to add them to our network. In our initial meetings with them, we observed exceptional business, marketing and even franchise savvy that left us quite confident in their potential to succeed in and enhance our system,” said Cynthia Gartman, IKOR’s president.

“Just as important, our continued growth in both new and existing markets means the IKOR name is getting out in front of more prospective clients and franchisees, while also bringing our advocacy and guardianship services to more seniors and disabled, and those charged with their care.”

Sure and Steady Growth Mark A Carefully Laid Out Plan

Following its initial decade as a single-office operation in Kennett Square, Pa., IKOR kicked off its growth campaign in late 2010 with the opening of franchise units in neighboring Chadds Ford, Pa., Morristown in northern New Jersey, and two in Dallas. In 2011, offices opened in Atlanta, Annapolis, Md., Boston, Fairfax, Va., and Pittsburgh. The company expects to grow at an even faster pace in 2012.

“Looking ahead to 2012, we’re planning to add at least 15 new units but we’re fairly confident we’ll exceed that. We’re keeping to a strategy of very controlled but definite growth to ensure we can appropriately support each unit in our system and maintain if not improve our overall system standards as our numbers increase,” said Gartman.

IKOR’s growth follows a rise in the need for dedicated, experienced support for the disabled and seniors. Time-constrained, remotely located or simply inexperienced family members and fiduciary professionals are increasingly finding themselves ill-equipped to manage the care of such individuals, who often lack the ability to advocate successfully for their own needs or quality-of-life desires. Offering relief and a typically welcome solution, IKOR’s seasoned nursing advocates and trained financial advocates handle responsibilities ranging from determining whether conditions are conducive to remaining at home and what provisions may be necessary, to coordinating and tracking in-home care, to securing a space in the most appropriate facilities when home care is no longer an option, to ensuring care and prescribed medicines or therapies are administered properly wherever they are provided. Power of Attorney authorizations, routine financial management and other non-medical services are also available. Each office also addresses issues such as elder financial abuse, patient neglect, and other situations where an individual’s physical, mental, emotional or financial security is at risk or has been compromised.

Multi-unit and single-territory franchise opportunities remain available throughout most of the eastern and central United States and the company will be entering the western part of the United States during 2012.
