February 07, 2013 // Franchising.com // COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) has selected Marina MacDonald, SVP Sales & Marketing, Red Roof Inn, as one of the “Top 25 Most Extraordinary Minds in Sales and Marketing” for 2012. The tenth annual list recognizes the “best of the best” in the hospitality, travel and tourism industries. Recipients were honored during a private ceremony preceding the Adrian Awards Gala on January 28, 2013, at the New York Marriott Marquis and were recognized at the Adrian Awards dinner reception and gala.
The 2012 “Top 25” recipients were judged by a panel of senior industry executives for their recent work based on the following criteria: creativity and innovation; cutting edge sales or marketing campaigns; triumph in challenging situations; and sales efforts that resulted in dramatic gains.
Marina is responsible for helping Red Roof achieve its annual goals and objectives by leading and directing the brand’s Sales and Marketing programs. Marina develops targeted marketing initiatives building the brands awareness, customer loyalty base, and supports an integrated sales program. Other major roles and responsibilities include: interacting with the franchise community and the brand’s stakeholders; maintaining relationships with Red Roof’s top customers; and playing an active role in field sales.

This year’s contest attracted more than 1,100 entries from around the world, with entries judged by top executives from all sectors of the industry.
