Right at Home Twin Cities and South Suburbs Receives Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award

April 12, 2013 - Right at Home Twin Cities and South Suburbs, a locally owned and operated franchise office of Right at Home, Inc., was honored by the Minnesota Psychological Association with their Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award. Paul Blom, owner of Right at Home Twin Cities and South Suburbs, accepted the award on behalf of Right at Home on April 5 during the MPA’s 77th Annual Convention in Minnetonka, Minn.

Right at Home, a senior home care company,received the award for its exceptional commitment to employee involvement, employee recognition, employee growth and development, health and safety, and especially, its work-life balance. The MPA noted that Right at Home does an outstanding job at fostering employee health and well-being while enhancing organizational performance. Specifically, the companytreats its employees respectfully, creates a positive work environment and is responsible to employee needs.

“We are proud to receive the Psychologically Healthy Workplace Award from the MPA,” Blom said. “My partner, Bob White, and I are pleased to be recognized for the workplace environment we have created. Knowing that our employees are happy working at Right at Home is especially gratifying to us, as their happiness influences the quality of care provided to our clients. If our employees have a positive disposition, then our clients will be taken care of well. We are grateful to have a wonderful staff who help provide superior care to our clients.”

Since 1999, state psychological associations have been given Psychologically Healthy Workplace Awards to all types of organizations – large, small, profit, nonprofit – with support from the American Psychological Association. The local award program has found success, with participation growing to 56 associations across the U.S. and Canada. Collectively, more than 500 organizations have been honored at the state level.

To be considered for the Minnesota PHWA, organizations must complete an application, and finalists participate in an employee survey and site visit. As the 2013 MinnesotaPHWA award recipient, Right at Home is now a candidate for the National PHWA, given by the American Psychological Association.

In addition, Right at Home ranked No. 1 in the StarTribune’s Top 100 Workplaces in 2012, among midsized employers. The company ranked No. 2 in 2011 and No. 3 in 2010.
