West Fort Worth Fit Body Boot Camp Owner Shares Tips on Making Time for Fitness This Summer

Fort Worth, TX (PRWEB) June 04, 2014 - For many people, summer places more demands on an already overloaded schedule. The kids are out of school, vacations need to be planned and taken, sports teams are in full swing and guests come to visit. Freddie Jenkins, owner of the West Fort Worth Fit Body Boot Camp fitness boot camp says that summer schedules can be a problem time for people to try to get fit, but there are ways to work around the problems.

"We all have lists of things to do each day or each week and we make time for those things," says Jenkins. 'No matter how busy we are, we make time for things like watching our favorite TV shows or meeting with our book club or getting the house clean. But when it comes to exercise, we say we don't have time and we really feel like that's true."

Jenkins says that the key to making and sticking to a commitment to fitness is to get exercise off of the obligations list and onto the favorites list. He offers a few tips tips on how to do that.

"It's important to block out any negative feelings about working out," he explains. "Don't focus on the work; focus on the benefits, like looking great in a bathing suit or having the energy to do things with your kids."

Jenkins says that it's also important for people to find a workout program that they really enjoy. "Find something that gets you excited, that's fun and actually makes you feel like you're having a good time. A group setting is great for creating that atmosphere, because you have camaraderie and support. It's a social get-together with health benefits."

He advises people on really tight schedules to look at more intensive workouts that combine cardio and strength training, muscle building and fat loss. "If you're killing two birds with one stone, you don't have to commit to so much time in the gym," he adds. "It's really hard for most people to set aside one or two hours a day, several times a week for exercise. That's one of the great things about the fitness boot camp method. We get cardio and muscle building in one workout and most workouts take thirty minutes or less."

Jenkins adds that nobody has a lot of time on their hands these days, but most people have more than they think. "A lot of people tell me they don't have time to work out. I tell them "No one has time, you make time". If something is important enough, we manage to squeeze it in. If the car needs to be fixed, we take it. If your body and your health need to be fixed make yourself enough of a priority to devote a little time each day or a few days each week."
