MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes Makes its Debut in Lombard, IL

Former Franchise GM Opens Second MOOYAH Restaurant in Illinois, Has Plans to Open Two More Within the Year

Dallas (PRWEB) June 12, 2014 - As more burger enthusiasts flock to MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes (MOOYAH), word of the fast-casual, "better burger" brand's reputation for serving up mouthwatering, build-your-own burgers continues to spread. To satisfy the cravings of Illinois burger lovers, the brand opened its doors and fired up the grills on June 9 in the Chicago suburb of Lombard. Spearheaded by entrepreneur and owner, Sanjay Patel, the restaurant is located at 2820 S. Highland Ave Unit E. After the first Illinois MOOYAH restaurant opened earlier this year in Glenview, the Lombard MOOYAH is the second restaurant in the state and the first of three Patel plans to open within the next year.

"MOOYAH is a concept I knew I had to develop in the Chicagoland area; it's the perfect combination of great food and family fun," said Patel. "From the high-quality burger options, to the delicious French fries my family and I love, I'm excited to open my doors and welcome Guests to experience the brand I fell in love with for themselves."

Patel's well-rounded experience with franchising dates back to 1997, when he moved from his native India to Chicago and began managing a 7-Eleven. After four years as a GM of the popular convenience store chain, Patel moved to New York where he owned a Subway for five years. Following, he moved across the country to California to start his liquor business, an endeavor he still pursues. He took himself and his beverage business back to Chicago and currently owns two liquor stores in the suburb of Addison, Illinois. Patel loved the Subway concept and wanted to shift back into the food industry, but felt that the "better-burger" business was much more needed than another sub shop. A friend of his introduced him to MOOYAH, so Patel traveled to Dallas to see what the excitement was about. Patel loved the fresh focus of the concept and decided to bring the brand to his hometown. In hopes of growing the MOOYAH name, Patel plans on expanding the brand into the surrounding areas of Lombard and Bloomingdale following his initial opening.

At MOOYAH, Guests start their made-to-order burger experience by choosing from freshly-baked white or whole wheat buns, or a low-carb, bun replacement of iceberg lettuce leaves. Next, Guests have the option of never-frozen 100 percent American beef, Jennie-O® turkey or the mouthwatering black bean veggie patty, all decorated with unlimited veggies, a choice of 11 delectable sauces, five different cheeses, and other savory toppings such as Applewood bacon and fresh avocado.

In addition, the sides and dessert are not to be forgotten. MOOYAH French fries are not an afterthought, but a crucial component of the whole MOOYAH experience. The daily-cut spuds are always cooked fresh, and transformed into the perfect French fries through a proprietary six-step, 24-hour process. Guests also have the option of the ever-popular Sweet Potato Fries. To offset the savory side of the menu, MOOYAH offers handcrafted shakes made with 100 percent real ice cream. Like their burgers, MOOYAH shakes can be customized with fun ice cream flavors and sweet toppings such as M&M's®, cookie dough and Reese's® PB cups.

"The Chicagoland area is a growing foodie destination and demand has increased for using the best ingredients and providing the best service; we're delighted to contribute by providing both through our partnership with Sanjay," said Michael Mabry, Vice President of Operations and Franchise Development for MOOYAH. "There are other burger brands out there, but our progressive growth into new territories stems from our commitment to offering our Guests the best experience each time they visit MOOYAH."

MOOYAH has plans to continue its sustained expansion, and predicts the brand will add over 1,000 jobs to local communities through its restaurant openings in 2014. The burger franchise shows no signs of slowing down and aims to deliver a simple American classic that's not only made well, but produced in a friendly and comfortable environment to new and fresh markets in the future.
