MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes Invites Guests to Dine Out for No Kid Hungry

Fast-Casual Better-Burger Chain Aims to Raise $100,000 to Fight Childhood Hunger

Dallas (PRWEB) September 08, 2014 - Setting a goal for a $100,000 donation, MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes has committed to Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry® campaign's work to battle childhood hunger. The Dallas-based fast-casual chain will offer booklets of coupons for free food and beverages with each $5 donation to the No Kid Hungry campaign, from Sept. 8 to Oct. 5.

According to Share Our Strength, one in five American children struggles with hunger, meaning they may not know when or where their next meal will come. But a $1 donation to the organization can help connect a child facing hunger to up to 10 meals *. Since 1984, Share Our Strength has raised more than $507 million through corporate sponsorships, events and donations. During that same timeframe, funds have been granted to more than 1,100 deserving organizations nationwide that are effectively helping feed kids.

"No kid should ever have to go without a meal, and we feel it's important to help in the fight to make sure that doesn't happen," said Rich Hicks, Co-Founder and CEO of MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes. "That's why we've made our goal to raise $100,000 for the No Kid Hungry campaign, which could mean as many as 1 million meals for children in need."

Every September thousands of restaurants across the country come together to raise money and awareness for No Kid Hungry, prompting millions of customers to donate to the charity at the point of sale in stores, via online and social-media sites, or by participating in local fundraising and cause-marketing events.

"Everyone - private citizens, businesses, policymakers and nonprofits - has a role in helping end childhood hunger in America," said Billy Shore, Founder and CEO of Share Our Strength. "I encourage everyone to dine out often at participating restaurants wherever they are this September. Then visit NoKidHungry.org to join this national movement to ensure that every child in America has access to the nutritious food they need, every day."

MOOYAH will sell a freebie-filled booklet for $5, with all the proceeds going to No Kid Hungry during the campaign. The business-card-size booklet unfolds with five different offers including a free MOOYAH Burger, free Little MOO Shake, free Loaded House Salad, free Small Fries, and a free Hot Dog.

"Our franchise partners are extremely excited about this partnership with No Kid Hungry and are setting individual goals for their restaurants and team members," said Natalie Anderson, Senior Brand Manager of MOOYAH Burgers, Fries & Shakes. "It's resonating so strongly across our system because fighting childhood hunger is a cause that aligns squarely with our brand. Every day in our restaurants we deliver on our mission to provide great experiences for families. We love the families in our communities and want to do all we can to make sure no one goes hungry, especially children."

According to Share Our Strength, donations add up to a large impact for hungry children in the United States. For instance, a $25 donation can help provide a month's worth of snacks to a child in an after-school program; $50 can help a family access nearly $900 in food assistance to make more healthful meals at home; and $100 can help deliver nutritious meals to a child in need for three months*.
