British Swim School Takes the Plunge: Integrates Technology with Safety

Intl. Swim School Franchise Announces Launch of Smart Phone Application for Parents

Fort Lauderdale, Fla. (July 30, 2015) – According to Mobile Statistics, since smart phone users were introduced to the idea of a downloadable app in 2010, there have been close to 60 billion app downloads on cell phones and tablets. In the past few years, many brands have gone out of their way to adapt to the changing world of technology and now an international swim school franchise known as British Swim School has announced the launch of a new mobile application that will be used to better communicate with parents whose children are enrolled in the swim program.

British Swim School’s app allows for a more direct line of communication between parents and staff members. Through the app, parents can schedule lessons, pay their participation fee, receive water safety messages and monitor their child’s goals. For parents with multiple children involved in the swim school, there are different tabs for each participating child so that every child’s goals and levels are kept separate. This allows for easy scheduling of classes that meet each child’s skill level.

“This application is truly revolutionary for our industry,” said Rita Goldberg, CEO and Founder of British Swim School. “You see apps like this with restaurants and retail locations but it’s revolutionary for a swim program to be embracing technology like this to make the lives of the parents easier. We want to make our program as seamless as possible for parents so that they continue to come and teach their children how to survive in the event of a water emergency.”

While Florida and Maryland are the first regions to have access to the app, a nationwide roll out to all British Swim School territories is expected by late August. Each operating franchisee already has an existing customer database which ensures that the launch of the app in each area will be smooth and swift. Once the app is launched, every parent with an enrolled student will be able to create a profile and access the app to even further ease the process of scheduling classes.

“With the creation of this app, we don’t have to worry about a gap in our customer communication tools,” said Bonnie Alcid, Owner of British Swim School in Germantown and Gaithersburg, Maryland. “Not only have we created a new way to reach millennials but we’ve increased the personal connection between business owner and parent.”

British Swim School is the first and largest concept of its kind to have created a unique water safety program with teaching methods that serve as a trademark for the brand alone. The company operates lessons out of multiple national fitness chains and hotel pools year round and, based on the premise that children progress at different rates, does not run on “set courses.” Each child, regardless of age, is placed in their correct skill level and will have certain achievable objectives. The child will be graduated from that level and moved onto the next without a waiting period, as found in a course driven program.
